Mechanic / Welder / fabricator, with the state of MN. DOT, my family has a small machine shop / repair shop that I spend plenty of time at. I also do some Dirt Late Model racing, but I wouldn't say I make any money at that, I tell people that racing is a second job you pay to do.

I have a Rocket late model, and also drive a GRT mod for a friend that retired form driving a few years ago, used to race 60 to 70 shows a year, when I had my own mod, some USMTS, and open stuff but mostly WISSOTA, I've cut way back, only about 16 nights this year, it just cost to much, plus more time to ride the Vision.

I feel out of place here, Drywall finsher over 30+ years.

Budnbud....Having hung some drywall over the years (taught by my dad), I will say this about your trade....it's truly an art form to have the seams not show and the tape not feather. If you did it over 30 years, you had to be one hell of taper.

I have a day job as commercial project estimator for one of the largest electrical contractors in Fargo, ND.

I also own a small custom powder-coating shop which I run in my "spare" time.
Elite Powder Coat - West Fargo, ND. I've done lots of Victory parts through our local dealer here.

This is my second Victory. I just traded up from a 2005 Victory Hammer.

Project manager for GE Security. Our machines find bombs in airport checked luggage. You may also have stepped through one of our portals during security screening at the airport. It's the one that puffs you with tiny jets of air from head to toe, checking you for explosive residue.

Me?? I am an olympic gold medalist. 100 meter freestyle bed-wrestling. At the 2008 bedroom olympics. Hey, why do you think they call me metalguy??

My hobby (work) is aircraft. My past jobs have been rather...diverse. Vacuum cleaner salesman, pizza delivery, Bank messenger, Janitor for a 6 floor hospital, Licensed A+P mechanic for over 20 years, Super cub modification at Cubcrafters, Logger, setting chokers for a yarder, Iron worker, erecting steel, Crew chief for C-141, and C-17a, But presently, I am an aerospace machinist/certied welder for the Air force, as a civilian, and a MSgt expeditor for the USAFR. That is why I was in Iraq in 2007 until July. I am kind of a McGiver type of guy, I can make almost anything out of the most unconventional materials in austere environments. I love making solutions for problematic jobs.------Metalguy

I thought it was for that plate in your head. If it's for freestyle bed-wrestlying, shouldn't it be medalguy? :P

Do the math Shawn. 3300 or so 2008 Visions - at 25 (real) posts per page means we should be at page 130ish - not 5.
I am guessing there are a bunch of Vision owners who don't know this page exists (I know I had to tell my Victory dealer about it).
But this has been a great thread - wonderful stories and even some truth I suspect. Definitely not a bunch of bone-heads here.....
Keep the thread going!

I agree to keep the post going to continue to collect up as many as we can, but my assessment that only at best 30% to 50% will ever even so much as visit this forum. I would venture to say that the other 50% - 70% either never visits any forum or will be a part of another forum exclusively. Just my unscientific input, I would say we'll get about another 50 or so of the newer folk before this post fades into post land. According to the membership list there are currently 851 members and of those only a little more than a 100 has posted, a whooping 12%. Still by far the best and most fun one to date, come on chime in.

I agree with your numbers, Chris. I don't like them - but I agree.
I think that we should make a point of instructing our Dealer's sales staff to make sure EVERY Vision buyer is aware of the site.
For example - because of this site, I knew of the Recall for the battery post before my Victory service manager knew. He as much said 'bullshit' until I sat him down at a computer and showed it to him. Now the dealership follows these threads and are more aware.
Let's hear from more of the missing 88% of members - and recruit more of the missing non-members.
