So I land at Des Moines Airport and what do I see? A 2011 Red/Black Victory Vision Tour (they could have left off the ABS insignia), but what a beautiful machine up on the pedistal. So I'm taking a picture, which I'll post later and a man and woman are walking toward it. I hear her say, "It's okay but I like the more traditional look." They swing around the side I'm on and I say that I own one. He asked me how I like it, and my answer was "96,000 miles in 3 1/2 years I'd say I like it." He gasps, and wants to know if I've had any major issues, and my reply is none, except replacing the fuel pump.

That's pretty cool.

I suspect there's a lot of folks on these blogs (not just here, either) who take themselves mighty seriously and may benefit from some relaxation techniques...

Stop out to the Vic Shop if you're in town. I'm about 1/2 from Des Moines. I'll be up all night installing cams tonight, then I've got some out-of-towners coming in tomorrow for cams as well.
What are you in town for?

VB - just read your post, I've got an early day in the morning so I won't be able to get out that way. My flight is 2:30 tomorrow afternoon and I'll have a small margin between my flight and my briefing. However, I am hoping for just enough time to take a test ride at the dealer in ankeny on a highball. This is the dealer bike, but I get there this evening and there sits the Vic truck for test rides. They said it was a no-go today because of the rain, and no corporate bike rolls for test-rides when its raining.

The dealer is super, and I recommend anyone to stop by, they have a great selection of bikes, ATV's and John Deere stuff, hey, it is Iowa.

Plumley--- Have you heard the expression "Come to the dark side, we have cookies"? I assumed that the guy that Cap'n Nemo spoke with might like the Vision. As we all know the Vision is a better bike than the more tradional looking bikes. I would also assume that most people would rather have a steak and a lobster to eat than a box of cookies. It was an attempt at humor by changing an old expression. I'm sorry that you were so offended. Ease up a little and try to find the humor in things people say.
Rainryder-----Yep.

Honestly, I just don't know. I DO ride, and I DO have a life, a very busy life, and all the things I do, I do with a passion, even work, but especially, ride to eat, eat to ride....or is that live?...

Yes wtwhitelaw I have a great sense of humor and can spell!!!! I still have no idea what the post meant and why it was placed there??? It seems to fit right in with the rest of you people who write useless posts!! I am unsubscribing because enough is enough! No more insulting my intelligence!! So don't bother writing a rebutal since I won't be here to read your misspelled garbage. Oh and for those of you seeking self improvement (LOL) use a dictionary and try and pretend you are a adult. Oh and BTW I am a mechanical engineer and believe that using a car tire on a bike is stupid and I would be ashamed to tell anyone I went to the "DUMB SIDE". Whoops is that "Dark Side"?????

Happy Riding, salute to the Cap'N back on his mighty steed "The Bentley".

It's a shame Plumley seemed to have a good grasp of a bit of sarcasm. Too bad for him.

wtwhitelaw - I ain't ne'er heard of not dark side, cept through that one movie with R2D2. How odd the expression? For the record I ain't lightening up for anybody, however, I have tried to use the elliptical a couple of times.

Yep the saying does come from the movie not from tires.
Plumley----I'm not trying to write a term or thesis paper so I don't put too much concern into grammar or spelling. Who asked about your education level? AN should be before adult not A, since correctness is so important to you. Have a nice day!
