I completed my IBA ride yesterday. Double Gold!!

Over 2000 miles in less than 36 hours on my Vision 8-Ball. The IBA SS2000 Gold. This is the first time this ride has been done on a Victory.

I started near Milwaukee at 6:00 am Saturday morning.
The first 1000 miles was done in 15 hours and 5 minutes.
I hit the 1528 mile point in 23 hours and 47 minutes in SW Utah. This qualified for the IBA BBG1500.
I hit the 2000 mile mark in 33 hours and ended the ride in Palisade, CO. 2048 miles in less than 36 hours!!
A lot of rain and weather extremes on this ride, 86 to 40 degrees and hundreds of miles of rain.

Today I'm in Durango, CO, tomorrow I'm riding to Pikes Peak and then to Georgetown and then home.

I'll post more details and pictures when I get home.

A very happy Victory rider.

Man that first 1000 miles you were averaging roughly 66 mph for 15 hours!

Keep it safe Steve and hope to meet up with you again sometime in Wisconsin

Hey Rollin', I live just East of Durango in Bayfield. I am working the night shift at a large nat/gas processing facility by the airport and happen to have ridden the vis. I make for home around 05:15 in the morning, If you get that early of a start we could pair up on the way to Bayfield from the intersection of hwy160 & hwy172. Breakfast? Either way be safe and enjoy the scenery over Wolf Creek pass.

Didn't ride it Iron Butt style last year but I did go up through Durango and across Wolf Creek Pass on my way to Barstow. I came across a couple that was from Wisconsin, he was on a 'Pin, she was on a ricer cruiser, I on my Vision. Beautiful country and vistas. There's also the waterfall, I really enjoyed my time through there.

Man that was is what quite a ride. I did a SS1000 in 09 on a HD half in the rain. That was not much compaired to your ride. My hat is off to You.

Some numbers -

1000 mile point - 66.3 MPH avg. 73.4 MPH avg moving speed. 1.28 hours stop time.
That is a lot of stop time for that point of the ride - weather issues in NE.

1528 mile point - 64.3 MPH avg. 71.8 MPH avg moving speed. 2.28 hours stop time.

2045 mile point - 71.9 MPH avg moving speed. The GPS showed the total miles to be 2053.

Wish I would have seen your post earlier. That would have been fun.

I'm using the motel PC and there was a line and I'm still running on central time.

One of the toughest parts of an Iron Butt is minimizing your stop time. It's amazing how much time is used just for a gas stop. I did 2,147 in 43 hours and I was looking at why I didn't do it in less time. One, since I was going for an Iron Butt, time was spent sleeping, then bad weather on the West Virginia Turnpike, at night. However, both legs of 1,000+ each was done well under 24 hours.

Thanks for putting the Victory in the books!

My understanding of the 8-ball is no radio. Did you have tunes of any kind?

No tunes. I wear ear plugs on the long rides.

The bike and "DA MAN"!

Great job. Kind of thinking that I would have wanted a slightly taller windshield given all of the rain you hit.
