I still want the leather seat but time's a wastin' and just can't get to that point, soooo... I went with seat beads and they seem great. Going on a good Carolina ride tomorrow and put them to the test. Anything's better than vinyl. This was cheap at Wal-Mart and took very little modifying to make it work.

Went to the beadside a few years ago. Be sure to take them off when you want to feel the heat in the winter.

I have had mine on for over a month now and love em'. It's like A/C for the rear.
I took them off for one ride, remembered why I bought them after 80 miles.

I picked up the one that Capn has for $15 form Pep Boys and with a lot of patience redid it to make two saddle size covers.

Do any of you that have these expect or have seen any wear on the seat from the beads over an extended period of time?

I stopped and bought a set on the way home today. I tied them to the backrest and grab handles. They help a lot with temp getting in 95 - 102 range.

The only marks on the seat were causes by the velcro strap I had to hold it on. Don't use anything now and the only time it has come off was during an unexpected tipover. When I take it off for washing or winter it looks like it has marked up the seat, but the marks are temporary.

My seat had little dimples where the beads pressed in, but went away after 100 miles of riding without it. I do have the 2010 Ness saddle though, I think it's a little beefier than stock.

Dynabeads work good in the tires, are seatbeads that good to keep your butt balanced?

greatly balanced - getting that cool breeze and gentle massage. Also, I like the drape over the back as it keeps air circulating back there as well. I recommend using the whole bead matt for a car seat and remove enough from the small end to make it fit the seat as in the first post.

I found this black beaded seat cover at Pep Boys today for $17. It looks nicer than the bead rider and has a plastic mesh cover underneath to protect the seat. I don't plan on attaching it....just store in in the trunk when parked.

My beadrider cover should be delivered today. Will test it out with a nine hour jaunt over to Sandy Hook, MS for the Memorial Day Biker Party (www.memorialdaybikerparty.com).

Well I read this thread and had to try them out. I went to WallyWorld and spent the 10 bucks for the beaded seat cover. Brought it home and cut the tang off that goes to the head rest for a car seat. Retied the last row of beads and tried it out today. I must say that I am impressed. I did not think I would like it at all. Instead the air circulation is awsome!! It truely is like AC for the butt. These are now a must have for trips for me. For now I will use the cheap version, then when the time comes, I will not hesitate to purchase the nice ones from Beadrider. Thanks to all for the advice and ideas on this site!!

I must tell you that I cannot have these bead chairs as my Father from India claims I am not old enough and that first I must drive taxi for many days to qualify for bead seat. I told him I have nice turban and speak good time english but he still say no sir, no bead. I am dismissed.

all I can is that beauty is in the eye of the butt-holder on this one. I wanted to find black ones or paint these black, but didn't. They are zipped tied on so there is no throwing them in the trunk. Then I figured the only ones who will say something about it is those who polish and don't ride on sunny weekends. I have learned that vanity has a price that cost more than comfort. I will enjoy my ride tomorrow on Rolling Thunder on my cool-A-- bike.

Don't knock it till you try it. I would have loved to have had these on last years trip. 90*+ in stop and go traffic and sweat running down. The "boys" were really complaining by the end of the day. I really believe these will make a huge difference on long, hot trips.
