Just wondering if anyone else had issues with the mirror location on the Vision. I know they are placed for ascetics they must be because when I look in them I see my hands and handle bars covering about half of the mirrors.

My Vision is a 10 with close to 8K on it now. What I finally did was buy a pair of after marker handle bar mirrors and mounted them in the clutch and hand brake modules. But I was still getting distracted by the other OEM mirrors, so, I bought some tinting film (hearse) and blacked them out. Those mirror spaces sure could be used for storage if there was a way.

I went to checker auto and brought the small circular mirrors and put them in the left hand corner of the vision mirrors. They have an adheasive on the back so you just need to press them on the vision mirrors.
They work great and add to the look of the bike. Total cost was $4.00 .

This initially bothered me as well but after really looking at what you see in the mirrors I discovered that you can actually see behind the bike. The concave (convex?) design of the mirrors allows you to adjust them so you don't see so much of your hands, yet you can still see much of what is behind you, and to some degree, what's what's behind you on the OTHER SIDE of the bike. It took some getting used to this.

The mirrors never really bothered me, I guess I have a habit, be it good or bad of looking over my shoulder before I change lanes and what not..

I think the initial reaction that you can see your knuckles throws you off. I pay no mind to that and the mirrors work real well. Also I can check to see if I need to clean or clip my nails on a long ride.

Admittedly, the mirrors took a little adjustment time compared to my previous cruiser. Mostly cause I could see my knuckles as you describe. But now, I don't even think twice about it...no mods and not phased a bit by it.

I think the mirrors work just fine and provide no worse field of vision than my previous ride (or other rides I have been on). In fact, I think they actually provide a good rear and side field of vision. I see plenty behind me, to the side of me and just to be certain, I also have the habit of head-checking prior to a lane change.

I agree that while it was a bit strange at first to see my hands, it never really bothered me. The Vision mirrors give me all the rear view "vision" I need, and I don't even think about my hands.

Like some others, I tried the convex mirrors that you can get from any auto store. I tried both the small ones and the larger ones, and also tried different positions on the mirror, but in the end, I replaced both mirrors with Muth mirrors with the integrated turn signals, and didn't want to muck them up with additional stick on mirrors. Also, I ultimately found that I did not need any supplemental mirrors, and I am very happy with them as is.......but that's just me.

I've added small (1 in. X 2 1/2 in.) fisheyes to the upper outside corners of both mirrors (also run two 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 's on the JEEP mirrors for edges off road), and like Arkainzeve, I keep my knob moving and always 'check 6' before changing lanes I figure if you want to gawk, you belong on the backseat not steering. I got used to a 3X4 in. fisheye on the left mirror of my VENTURE years ago after the stock one got clobbered by a rock and the parts counter said 'six weeks' for a friggin' mirror!?! $ 3.49 + the Governors cut fixed that in about 31 seconds.

Just add a regular mirror on the cube and do away with the factory location mirror. You will see you hands with any bar that you mount on your Vision.... its just a design flaw. the mirror is really big so hard to stay out of it.. Im in the process of making a pod that will insert so you can add another speaker. More sound....

I have added the blindspot mirrors above the Vision built-in mirrors. When a vehicle comes up beside me and disappears in the Vision mirror, it is still fully in the blindspot mirrors, and when the vehicle just starts to come off the top of the blindspot mirrors, the vehicle is in my peripheral vision. I do find the blindspot mirrors vibrat some during acceleration..

I was going to get these mirrors, http://www.saeng.com/product.php?id=253&category=61 , because it was strange seeing so much of my hands, but then I realized I still have plenty of mirror to see everything else with.

I adjusted my mirrors so I only see 3 fingers in each mirror, with the hands in the upper inside of each mirror. Works great for me!

I replaced both mirrors with Muth mirrors with the integrated turn signals.

Like some others, before I went with the Muth mirrors, I tried the convex mirrors that you can get from any auto store and had gotten used to them and went back with them on the inside bottom of both mirrors.

If it is beside me and still out of my periferal vision, I still see it with these.

Whinecooler came up with the fix that I used. See link below. Over a year and no shakes worth worrying about.

No, it's not normal, but it's also not unusual on a brand new bike either. My bike's right mirror started vibrating after I played around with the viewing angle. It just needed tightened up a bit more after I moved the mirror around. Pop your front trim piece (just below the windshield) off. It's just held on with pins into grommets at each upper corner-just lift up. After you get it out of the way, you will be able to see a 10mm bolt going into the back of the mirror. Tighten that bolt a bit and see if the vibration goes away.

That front trim piece is also part of your radio's antenna and has a wire going to it. It unplugs so you can take the trim piece off the bike.

I like the mirrors; I just rotated them all the way IN so I could see myself and my handsome profile/big grin....

One time I found my mirror not installed correctly. It has a tab on it that goes into a slot on the bike. My left mirror was sitting on top of.....instead of inside the slot.

There are two bolts that hold each mirror in place. You have to remove them both to remove the mirror.

Sit on your bike and have someone put their hand over the section where you see you hand. Now look at how many square inches of mirror you still have to see behind you. Just cause you see your hands doesn't mean it's a "design flaw". It would look weird if they had the mirrors the size to just see behind you.

OK I can see my hands and have learned to look past them and see behind me.. I had on a different jacket the other day and the tassels on the cuff zippers was a major distraction.

Does anyone wear fringe ? And does it impair your rear view ?

Plenty of mirror space, more than most, adjust them correctly and you'll have a great field of view. I have tassles on the end of my handle bars and they've never been a distraction.
