The scooter is parked in the garage. It has to sit there a while. Hopefully, will only be about a week.

Acute Sciatica Pain Syndrome: Steroids, pain killers, muscle relaxers and NSAIDs.

I can't go to work either.

Get well soon!

My father-in-law (who lived until 97) used to say, "Go to the best doctors and only take half the medicine they prescribe!"

Take Care!

Cap'n Nemo he doesn't need a guy. He needs a little oriental girl with spike heels to walk on him.

DannyB sorry to hear about your pain. Get well soon.

Get well soon, I vote for the "little" oriental girl. Were you ever stationed in the Phillipines ( Pie in the Sky) during your Air Force days ?? One of them could fix ya..................

Quit messing around with all that bogus crap and take your aching ass to a chiropractor and get it fixed. Your liver and kidneys will thank you. Within two weeks you'll be stronger than you ever were.

You have my deepest sympathy, I've lived with a chronic screwed up sciatica and semi numb left leg for about 35 years. There's times when it's all I can do to get off the bike @ the end of a few hundred mile run, and as far as walking-you have a great time and take pictures willya?

Hoping you don't have quadracep charlie horses! Boy those will wake you up in a hurry and can't be stretched out, ust ahve to give their run and be careful for a few days.

I also vote for small lady with tall heels to cure him, but I remember reading about a Mrs. DannyB, she who may not approve. If the bike is feeling lonely I will see if I can schedule a day to visit and time visit (share)!

Them thar is a lot of big words, that sound like pain, you only really know if your in pain, is when the lady who gave birth to your kids is standing over you, hands on her hips, saying, "Hurts like he!! doesn't it!"

Not very many things that are as miserable as sciatic/lower back pain; unfortunately, I know from experience; been just over 12 years now since Lumbar Laminectomy, which ended up being a great move, after a few weeks of wondering if it was a big mistake. Have you thought about trying an Inversion board? I got one for preventive maintenance, and believe it is worthwhile.
Hope it clears up for you.

Thanks for the well wishes. It's an intense pain way beyond the kidney stone I had years ago!!

I'm using my inversion table, which helps a little, but nothing to write home about. Going to call a chiropractor tomorrow.

I used to see a chiropractor a lot, until I got the inversion table. I haven't needed one since! This one instance it doesn't seem to work like I had hoped. But I'll keep using it. The right "pop" could do the trick!

DannyB, I just went through something similar. I've had mild back pain for over 2 decades. It finally got to the point I needed steroids, a shot of toradol, pain pills, NSAIDs and a muscle relaxer. Ortho Doc took x-rays of me standing upright. Turns out, one leg is longer than the other, and you could see how it caused my back to curve over time. I never even knew it. I'm going to PT now. I have a heel lift in my right shoe and feel much better. Not taking any medicine at all! Glad I finally went to the doctor. Hope you're much better and riding again soon!!

I feel for you dannyb.. I've had it for 10 years and 2 badly herniated disks in my lower spine.. I finally gave up on the shots,, they wear off too quickly. Chiropractor didn't help much either. I gave up the therapy after I figured out what helped and what didn't. So now I know what makes me feel better and what doesn't. Hopefully you get fixed quickly, but if not, it is livable. And I still ride my ass off..

BTW - An inversion table really helped me alot..relieved alot of hip and spine pressure..

Good luck...

Well, they say I bulged a disk. I'm just starting to walk halfway straight. Left hip and knee is still giving me fits. They say its the nerve causing that. I'm seeing a doctor and doing physical therapy. I'm also seeing a chiropractor 4 to 5 times a week, out of pocket no less! This is getting REALLY old!!!!

I've now seen my scooter 3 times in the last six weeks. It's at my bro-in-laws garage. He had to come get it. I had it in a neighbors garage while I was starting all this therapy and stuff, because I couldn't ride and my garage wasn't done. But I felt it was in my neighbors way, so I asked my bro-in-law to come get it. He is the family member I have mentioned I ride with. The one with the Goldwing and FJR. My garage is done now, so I'd love to at least bring her home next weekend.

While I don't have the same problem that you have , I've had to quite my job and file for disability two years ago with chronic heart problems. I fought this for about 8 years after having 5 bypasses ,a heart attack, two trips to the Cleveland Heart Center, first one they could put a stint in,a year later they told me there isn't anything else that they can do . My heart doctor wants me to do morphine shots (2 a day)but I won't do that,I do take nitro several times a day to help the pain from starting, when that doesn't help I take morphine pills. And when that happends, I don't have any control over what I do, bet you know what I'm saying. So when I have them bad days, I just don't do nor go anywhere. If this happends while on a riding trip,I just find a motel or hospital and stay there till it is better. This really sucks ,but I'll bet that I can look around and find someone in a worse shape. Glad to be able to enjoy what I can do ! So hang in there and things will get better!! Good luck and take care of yourself.

Hope it gets better without surgery. Have had four so far. Last one was a fusion of four verterbrae from l-3 upward. Have a titanium cage around the verterbrae. Have back pain now, but not sciatica, which is painful, but not debilitating like sciatica.

Been wondering how you were doing, take it SLOW! the last thing you need to do is feel good one morning and do something to relapse you even more. After thrre hours on Saturday in the sun, my hips are screaming from not being used to the saddle so I gimp around like Grandpa McCoy.
