So on the 20th Victory is unveiling the new bike. Any guesses as to what it might be?

Do you think there will be a 15th anniversary edition? For the 20th, I predict a all electric Vision.

Don't know much about Roland Sands, but my guess is that it will be the production Core if it is his influence and a bobber. Folks, I do not believe that Victory should run with the sports bike market, they've got the niche in the cruisers and now touring. Sport bike riders are a different mind set all together and requires additional resources that may put the cruiser bikes in decline. JMHO

I love the sport bike folks. We always have a fun time. I don't think Victory should go for that market. Victory builds heavy bikes with low RPM engines and high torque. Going to a sport bike has nothing in common with touring bikes. A complete redesign of bike and engine and then a complete manufacturing line is not a way to make money. I don't think the V-Rod market is worth going for. Would they build a bike to compete with a Katana 400, Hyabusa or something in between? There are way to many models in the middle bracket now.

Didn't Polaris buy a company that was in the sport market / high tech end that competed in MotoGP for a couple years?

I am curious, so I logged in today to see what y'all thought it might be.
I got the email too.

I ain't got the funds for a new ride, and I ain't looking for anything in particular, but
I am curious. The Vision was flat out, well, out there. We had to have one.

The Cross bikes put some Vision concepts on a more traditional looking bike (I
love the Cross bikes).

Shirley, stop calling me that, Victory can't blow us away again??

If it's a sport bike it would have to be a different engine design, the 106 Freeedom is a great big bike engine, but would not work in a sportbike that wants to compete against 4 cyl japanese sportbikes. Only twin I know that can do that is a Ducati 1198 and it spins to 11,000 + rpm......That's a whole different animal.

The Roland Sands turbo bike would be very expensive to mass produce........

How about an entry level, smaller displacement, lighter weight, semi-cruiser styled bobber along the lines of the H-D 883 Sportster or the Honda =750 Shadow Phantom. It would seem like a natural step as Victory has most of the regular cruiser/touring scene covered. A true sport bike would definitely be out of character for Victory but still, you never know.

What about a transverse mounted engine in a sport tourer. They could use the basic engine that they have for there off road stuff. The RZR and the big Sportsman ATV. Not a full sport bike but a step tward a growing market for sure.

They bought a company that makes a twin cylinder rotax style motor. I remember the article vaugely. That's why I said sport bike. Seems more fun to speculate wildly and see what others come up with.......Bobber...isn't that a specialized market also. A entry level cruiser is more likely. I just do not see Roland getting involved in that......IMHO...

If they made smaller hikesbit would defeat the point of them doing What they've done recently with making one size engine accross the board.

Just in ! Victory was bought out by Hundai - a Korean maker. They are so angry with Honda, that they are going into competition with them!
Rumours also have it that North Korea has promised to ease off on the H-Bomb threats if the South will supply them with the latest model !
Apparently, fears of gasoline shortages in the future have resulted in a new engine that uses fuel made from the carcasses of dead sea urchins - and as a bonus - this fuel is at least 43 Octane - which means the flat-four design can put out at a minimum 11 horsepower at 1500 rpm.
Experts are predicting that this will decrease Honda's world market share by up to 2% which the Korean's see as a decisive victory in the long run.
For us Vision owners, we will be abandoned, and left with the most stunning motorcycle ever designed as a reminder of America's decadence.
Sniff.....

Roland Sands has been doing a lot of bobbers and cafes lately. My bet is it's a bobber maybe based on the same platform as Vision/X bikes (CORE).

http://www.rolandsandsdesign.com

I would love for it to be a cafe style but with the "reveal picture" on Victory's website it looks more like a bobber.

Envision a combination of the two bikes below...

I'm thinking bobber too, but I'd really like to see a Sport Touring. The reason I differentiate is that when I say "sport bike" people think "crotch rocket" and that's NOT what I'm talking about. I'm thinking more like BMW, Guzzi and Dukati to some extent. I can't think of ANY USA Made Sport Touring bikes. Even Triumph has the Tiger which I guess is a little more toward Dual-Sport. A 2-cylinder V-twin sport-touring bike, I'd be all over in a heartbeat. I love my V-11 Sport Guzzi, but I'd drop it in a NY minute if Victory built a similar bike. There's something about a V-Twin on a sport bike that just makes it fun. I mildly aggressive riding position. We (sport touring riders) don't really care about going 160 mph, but having all that torque, handling and comfort for the twisties and amazing acceleration is something else.

But I too think it's just going to be a bobber..
