Hello,

I am Joel from Jacksonville. Just picked up my brand new 2011 Vision Tour last week. I have about 250 miles so far. I have had 2 hondas, 1 Kaw KZ750, a HD FXRT, HD Soft tail, HD electra Glide, and recently a Honda VTX1300.

I test rode a Vision 2 years ago and knew without any doubt or reservation that I had to have one. Once we got financially ready we made the jump and got a Pearl White 2011 Victory Vision from Jacksonville Powersports. My salesman was Byron James. I mention it because he is the best salesperson I ever dealt with. Straight talk and very reasonable. And I got a great deal. (I am the intense looking one, guess I was thinking more about riding than posing)

This forum seems to be the best one due to the number of people that aren't afraid to make mods or do their own service (gasp!) The mods I am planning are:

Thrush Exhaust - in work
Top plate breather
Loydz VFC

I am heading to the dealer today to order a service manual, hopefully they have one.

I rode a 2010 before I purchased my 2011. The transmission update on the 2011 is huge I think. Definitely quieter and shifts smoother (i think). The exhaust note is barely deeper, but still has the EPA imposed choke hold. The test ride I did with the Thrush mufflers already helped it accelerate smoother and it seems happier. I can't wait to see how it performs with an open breather assy and VFC.

Here are some pictures if you are interested.

Welcome Joel. I'm new to this site and riding Visions also. Bought mine about a month ago. LOVE IT. Not new to Victory however; rode my TCD for almost 5 years before trading her on my Blue Ice VVTP. Now get on her and start the grinning process!

In the bicycling world, there is a phenomenon called the "recumbent grin".

Prepare to experience the "Vision grin".

Welcome.

Welcome Joel!
Tell us about the Thrush exhaust mod.

A user named FARGO was the first I read about doing this. He used Cherry Bombs. I found Thrush Mufflers locally at Advance auto parts for $19.99 ea. They are just like Cherry bombs. 2 1/4" inlet and outlet. They mate right up to the stock header with the stock clamps.

The install was not bad, but it is a good bit of fabrication.

The order of components is:
Muffler to header using stock clamp. I used a 2 1/4 OD adapter to a 2 1/8 pipe. Then I attached the original end cap and reattached the heat shields.

It was a bear of a job, but worth it. Total cost $65. The sound is VERY deep and smooth, but not harsh or obnoxious. I can now hear what the motor is doing at 70, but it isn't so loud that I can't hear the radio. The bike performs like before. When I add the big sucker and VFC, I expect that the open pipes will help it breathe. I'll let you know. I got done late, so I didn't have time to setup for Video and Sound. I will probably get to that Thursday. I will post a good quality byte with pro gear.

Hope this helps. Check out the thread below to read Fargo's experience, which again, I where I found out about it.

Welcome to the fold I too live in Jacksonville. I love my Vision it is the best bike I've ever had the privilege of owning. We need more people who like to wrench on their bikes, it has become a lost art. This site is a great place to get inspiration or fresh ideas on how one can mod his or her bike. Ride safe!

Congrats on the new bike. Also, thanks for the pictures, they are the first I've seen of the White Pearl 2011 Vision. Can someone confirm are the painted parts that used to be brushed aluminum...still aluminum? I really like these parts painted.

Yes sir. You and your Black and lime vision are almost legendary. Through the whole process of buying my bike, there must have been 5 different people ask me if I knew Daryl Ingle, you know, they guy with the black vision with lime graphics?

That and I'm on staff at Kernan Baptist, and they know you are CMA.

Need to meet up sometime.

Joel, you have confused Len Rhymes' black and lime green '08 with Darryl who is the CMA member and has a much newer (2010 I think) Vision (I can't remember what color Darryl's is).
BTW I'm CoolHandLuke and ride the '08 Midnight Cherry Vis and live over here on the Southside like Len.

I bought my '08 Street Premium at auction when the economy was worse than it is, and so I didn't get an owners manual. I downloaded the service manual to CD, but the site I went to to pilfer an owners manual was shut down. Anybody know where one can go to download one of those critters?
And pearl white-Harley brags incessantly about its paint, but Victory has some serious colors of its own. I haven't seen one like yours in the flesh yet, but I bet you can't hardly look at your new scoot in the bright sunlight! Good on ya!

Don't worry about mistaking my bike for another, it is a 2010 Ocean Blue/Sandstone, a good Naval Aviation color combo. I'll keep an eye out for you and your new ride.

Welcome to the Victory Vision club and I just happen to agree with you about Pearl White being the one color to own.
I have enjoyed my Vision for a full year and never looked back. Now you'll see what we all talk about when other riders stop and ask you about your ride.
Hope to run into your when we go down south for vacation.
