Anyone taken a look at putting the Cross Roads saddlebags on the Vision? This is my single disappoint with the VV. I've bought a trailer (2010 Escalade) to help on 2-up trips, but would like larger bags for 1-up trips. I know, everyone says that.

Any thoughts?

Yes most of us do say that. Next I'd like to see someone make a wider luggage rack so you could use a big bag, like a T-Bag Decker Supreme. You can stick half the house in that one..............

Buy a car or truck if that's what you really wanted. The VV is about style - not carrying capacity. Maybe you should think about what you NEED to carry - and not think about murdering the look of the most beautiful bike made.
I have 'sleep apnea' so I carry a CPAP pump. Also a computer in case my clients have a problem while I'm away. And I carry a beautiful woman with HER stuff. And for three years - EVERYTHING I need fits in the bike with NO strap-ons, for trips up to two weeks.
The mental image of a butchered Vision bothers my head - sorry for ranting....

I really don't think about style while I'm running down the road, and it's pretty nice to just unlatch a bag off the trunk and walk it in to the motel room............

There actually are some bag inserts that you can "Carry to your hotel room" that work great and if you pack properly you can get lots of stuff in there!! I bought a top bag for my rack and have travelled two up with plenty of room. TIP: Send your souvenirs home UPS!!

We Flo-rida (riding dirty) when we do overnighters. Take fresh underwear and fresh shirts, but we are always "riding dirty" with 2-day pants.

Sure beats dropping 80k on a government motors truck. :-)

The Vision storage has never been a dissappoint to me, the bags are just fine. I would like to get a trailer though when I bring the wife unit because she'll need it. I use the Saddleman, and it carries to the hotel/motel room easy. And ScoreBo, 2-day pants? Mine lasted the whole 5-day trip, I did change my undies, T and socks everyday and took a shower.

Many, MANY years ago an old Harley guy taught me a neat trick he said all of his pals use:
Before leaving for a 2 week trip - put on 6 pairs of undies. At the end (or start) of each day, take off the outermost undie and put it back on on the outside. At the end of 6-7 days, turn the whole works inside-out and repeat the process.
Pads the ass from the lousy seat and vibration, and makes packing a whole lot simpler. Works for the female unit, too.
Lucky for me - I don't mind washing undies in a motel sink.....
Leaving tomorrow for Oregon Coast / Crater Lake / Olympic Penninsula - and packed enough undies to do 6 days (5 prs). Will wash and hang to dry if needed !!!

I agree 100%. The bags were that size when you bought the bike. You should have bought a TC if you needed space.

"NO strap-ons," Don I am afraid to ask. O.o

My advice is to lay out everything that you think you will need for your trip, then immediately reduce it by half. A motorcycles saddle bags may not carry everything you want, but they will carry all you need.

Wow, interesting response Donetracy. I guess our perspectives on what I NEED differs or varies. I have a travel CPAP as well, but on camping trips the trunk is pretty full as well as the saddlebags. Leaving very little room inside or on top of the trunk.

Thanks for your reply, I enjoyed it.

Does the concept of TMI apply here? LOL!. Really, I'm still trying to get the mental picture out of my head of wearing 6 pairs of undies......... if you wear undies at all!

BTW, are they boxers, briefs or boxer briefs?

I'm ok with the space provided but I sure wish the bags came off the Vision to clean the wheel. I'm usually laying on the concrete on my back reaching up into the wheelwell while i'm getting soaked. I'll scrub a bit, get up and roll the bike forward and scrub the newly exposed area. To be able to take the bags off would be amazing.

...argh, it looks like something that crazy kid on Toy Story would put together...but, you know, I'm afraid Victory has one sneaking around some where, that don't look photoshopped to me....

They won't kill the Vision, they'll just morph it into something else.

This whole subject confuses the hell out of me. What in the hell do any of you need so bad that will not fit into that last little bit of cubic inch space??? Riding 2-up and bringing the entire supply at your local Cabellas superstore for your camping trip is gonna take a hell of a lot more than what the XC bags will hold.

3500 mile, 8-day trips with BOTH rain and cold weather riding gear with 2 helmets, and I have no problem carrying everything I need.....and I do it WITHOUT the tour pack. Riding solo: the Saddlemen solo bag goes on the back seat. Riding 2-up, the Saddleman bag goes on the luggage rack. Wearing 6 pairs of underwear at once to save space??? That could be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. What the hell do you people pack?????

Don't forget your panties and makeup cases ladies. Unbelievable!!

When you say "tour" in the desciption it changes the entire landscape. Going from a Wing or another bagger folks get use to the notion that they can take more than they need. I make the mistake almost everytime and tell myself that the next time, I'm only take "half" as suggested. If we all started out on a Captain America chopper we'd be thinking we're living in luxury and asking ourselves "what am I going to do with all this space? I know, I'll buy a toothbrush."

So I pull into the fancy oceanside hotel today - and I needed a luggage cart to unload all our stuff - all of which fitted in the 'tour' compartments. EXCEPT - for the first time (since this IS the Oregon Coast) I had a small bag on my trunk rack which has my rain gear and the Vision Raincover in it. (and co-pilot and self are only wearing ONE pr undies for those who are wondering... ) and I go to our beautiful room on the 5th floor with a view down the beach at Seaside and the seawall prominade and I pour a drink, and I start my computer, and I look at this thread - AND I SEE MY NIGHTMARE IN PHOTOS !!!!

PLEASE GOD! Take it away! Take it away! Please! p l e a s e . . . . take it awawwwwwwwwwwyyyyyyy

This is absolutely ugly! It looks like two bikes cut in half and welded together. The rear does not match the front and the top case looks like an after thought. We just bought the Bestem luggage off Ebay and will be using those for our upcoming 2-up 3 day trip. After testing what we could fit in tose I see us having plenty of room.

Thank God you didn't need the extra 3 cubic inches and could store your garments OFF your body.

Isn't it amazing what you can carry in the Vision. That is why this thread confused me so much. Glad to see you are having a great trip. That is a trip I want to make soon.....only from the south to the north.
