WOW!! I've been riding a 750 Vulcan since 92 that has "never" missed a beat but a newer and bigger bike was way over due. I was in the market for a tour bike and was going to get the G/W or the HD E-glide... until I saw this beauty. I took the Vision tour ride north of Washington DC last year and was flat out hooked. I nagged and dropped so many hints, options, color (midnight cherry premium tour, level 1 exhaust, gunner tips and intercom) I could to my wife that she finally said ok, gave in, but pay off a bill or two first and was a go for May or June order, YES, life was good. I couldn't wait to go in to drop the 1K to order it.

So I was out at a conference this last week and arrived home this afternoon only to find my cluttered garage replaced with the Vision I have dreamed about instead (surprise!!!). I just about died. Kissed and hugged the wife a thousand times, grabbed the key and immediately put 52 miles on it before dark. The dash said 46 degrees outside but my hands and a.., seat, was warm as hell with those heaters. Was a VERY good ride and day!! Central VA has better year round weather for riding than Colorado where I moved from.

Sorry for the rambling but now that I too own one (actually the title is in her name, thank god she can't drive it) I just got to tell everyone. I've been reading this site for a couple of months and learned a lot about the bike, the recalls, the dings and dents, the pros and, well not many cons, from this site. Thanks to all for your input to the site and cementing my decision to get one. I hope to be able to assist as well.

VARYDER- I passed you about three weeks ago and all I saw was that beautiful bike and the smile of excitement, or was that me today?? My forks aren't chrome either. Anyway let's ride.

Are the Michiganders able to ride much yet? Family back there says it's still snowing off and on and on and on…?

Thank You Dear

Welcome,
I have a Super Silver Premium Tour, from the same dealer that yours came from...I heard about in when I picked up my Stage 1 Level 1 Kit on Saturday. Put it on Saturday evening and it really sounds MUCH better than stock.
I'm sure we'll see each other sometime on the road!

Hi VaVision and welcome to the club. As a recent Vision owner, I can honestly state that this is unlike any bike you've ever ridden. Please take the time to get to know is slowly and become familiar with its characteristics. It is the best balanced bike I've ever ridden and although it will take practice (go to an empty parking lot either very early in the am or late in the pm and practice low speed maneuvers). Soon, you'll be doing low speed maneuvers and U-Turns without getting that panic feeling.

As others here know, I've been keeping a daily diary on Vision ownership. Check it out at http://www.gadgetguru.com.

The folks here are great and can answer just about any Vision question at any time. Best of all, the answers will be honest.

Rubber Side Down,

Andy

Welcome vavision! They are currently snow bound, as well as my peeps in Northern Ohio. The terrible weather has finally passed us here on the west coast and heading your way. If you get a window of oppurtunity in the next few days, take a long ride, because the bull crap weather is enroute to the east.

yeah ramble all you want. You should see some of the jib typed in here. I, of course, stay professional and to the point. Those in Arizona, and Tennessee tend to get long winded. Oh, don't let your wife put your Vision in the garage. Some one in Tennessee let their wife do that, and she broke an unbreakable bike. Can you belee dat? He scored back rubs for a month, and got to put a bunch of "extras" on his rebuild, so that was good. In reality (if there is one in cyberland) we all have fun on here. It's great therapy, and also alot of knowledge on the Vision. Just remember is PG-13, and the moderator will give you a "shout out" if you go over board. He hasn't yet, but does help to keep us focused on the main subject of the post. What was it again? Oh yeah, WELCOME ABOARD! (Buckeye gives metalguy rock n roll sign and head bangs) -\--/, Beers for everyone, it's on DesertJim, I'll get the next round. Polopoot, put your cloths back on. (can't take him anywhere) nice tassels...

Hey VaVision, welcome aboard to the best bike I've been on.

I heard through the grapevine that another MCTP was coming to town. I believe I was at the dealer when your wife was signing the papers and have heard about what a wonderful gal she is. Mine is just as wonderful to let me get that bike that looks like a bug, but it didn't go down the same ways as yours. But she's loves it too when we go out and ride, the comfort is so good she falls asleep. I might be down and out today because of my throat, but we'll get out and ride soon.

High Fives and beer for my horses!!!! Isn't it great to have a wife like that, what a nice surprise. Do you have any pics of that event? You need to post some pics of your wife as an example of what marriage should be like for those guests on this site that are having a little trouble talkin the Mrs. into the most pleasurable riding experience us guys could have. In fact it would be good for Mr. Tennchkinford to show his wife (his threw his V against a brick wall) I don't know if they are still married??

Hope that the weather lets you out on the roads- Congrats!

Hello and welcome from the "lone chick" Vision rider here (I guess I'm the dainty one, right??) I grew up in Central Virginia (Lynchburg). You've got some great roads to ride a great bike on in your region. Congrats!!

Thanks for all the replies, truly appreciated and I feel more than welcomed. Went home at lunch to get her (unnamed as of yet) then took off an hour early from work and went to the blue box lumber store for a part (love the storage space) on a project I'm working on for the wife, thanks again.

Second day riding, less than 24 hours of owning her and got my first "excuse me sir but what kind of motorcycle is that, it sure is pretty" Damn I love this bike! I told him it's a ViVi, ok wont use that again. He asked is that made by Suzuki. At that moment I knew what a second love could be like, I said NO made by Victory, and it's a Vision! Boy that came out of no where since I came off a Vulcan. Thank god he was just staring at it and wasn't paying any attention to me.

Any way I'm now up to 142 mile in just 24 hours of owning it within 4 hours of after work riding time. This bike can handle and get with it. I am still being very cautious during the break in and getting used to it. I think I'll sell my car.

My wife saw another Vision this morning by the local P/G post office, Vavision maybe? It was upper 30's and I didn't want to chance it yet just in case there was a little ice. Second day and wreck it was not going to happen, that would be worse than a loved one running into it into wall or something. Yea sorry I know that horse has already been whopped.

Thanks again to all for the welcome and thank you again dear.

Let the miles begin!

Hey VaVision, I don't think it would have been you but VaRyder. I was at the pumps filling up at Sebera's on my way to work. Nothing, so far has slowed me down, though I am cautious. Out of all the days this year so far, I've might not have riden maybe 10 if that. I know there was two times at the care center for service and oil change, and then a few real icey days.

On the road again today and they're calling for showers. No rain when I left the house, sorry, on the road again. On the way home, now that's another story, it will be raining, or so they say. But, I've never gotten very wet on the Vision yet.

I don't know if you would like to go, but Rolling Thunder is coming up in May. that would be a great ride, I did it last year on the GL1200 and it was great event. Looking forward to this year on the Vision.

Misty-eyed, I think not, balling like a baby, definitely so. I still got the cluttered garage and had to go get mine.
I did wind up with the unbreakable vision in my stable, but all much better now. But it appears I may have to open up a new position for vavision who thinks he may have enough testosterone to join the mighty legions of the VRA.
I wonder why so many sit by quietly only to unleash their one liners on the unsuspecting cherished members of the VRA. Hog Wash, we shall have the likes of him and all those opposing the Great VRA, shall be keelhauled. If you make it, you are more than welcome to continue one-lining me.
However, if one were to think Keelhauling to be a bit brash or stern, we could merely start a good hazing ritual (which of course is outlawed most places) and treat him like a good polywog. Shellbacks unite! I may be alone on this one, haven't seen another honorable shellback on here.

You don't. though you might ask the mighty webmaster to delete it for you.

I agree with the misty eyes because I got to see the event unfold little by little when I would stop by the dealer and the fine folk told me that another MC was coming to town. Then when I heard about the wonderful wife that was surprising her hubby when he returned from out of town.

Mine would have been hard press to surprise me because I don't ever leave home without her, but it brought me to tears when she said "What are you waiting for?"

When are you riding to work VaVision? I'll swing in and see ya on my way to work or return.

Varyder Rode it to work today, which I will most every day!! I have it parked outside my office window right now keeping an eye on it, I mean watch the people slow down when they go by... too funny. I work on Fort lee dont know if you can get through the gate or not, if so great. Heard you live close to the gate here, I live out at newville - out of here in a few for more miles of fun.

Pollolittle glad to hear your beauty is all better. I do need to clarify that the garage was not totally cleaned but everything was pushed to the side stacked up really neat. Still got to finish up

Hey, hey, work will be moving to Midlothian here soon, so I'll have about a 30 mile ride everyday, wooohoo. I just don't want to battle 150/95 on the way home, that's all.

Check your inbox in the upper right corner here on the forum, you've got mail, some of it old.

Okay, hold on now! I'm coming home from and I get off the interstate and who do I see, but me riding toward me in the other lane! No, no, it's VaVision coming the other way. I've got to meet the man behind the mystery woman. She even made sure that his Vision had the S1L1 pipes and CB.

I'm getting my S1L1 if I can sneak that past the better half. "Your bike sounds different, louder dear" "Oh no dear, its always sounded that way"

Anyway, back to VaVision. We talked about a half hour or so and folks drove and asked what kind of bike that was. One fellow walked across the street to get a closer look. He's from the valley and was out this way on business. He rides a Shadow but didn't have it with him, but we were able to talk shop for a while.

It was great meeting you VaVision and I know we'll see each other on the road.
