I'm 6'4, 225 and looking to purchase a Victory Vision Tour. I have done a short test ride but am curious on long treks how tall riders fare? Any inputs welcome. New to forum. Thanks.

I'm 6'4" ,215 lbs ,size 13 boots and a 36" inseam.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that tall riders are drawn to the Vision because its so stinking comfortable and easy to throw around. This is the only motorcycle I have ever ridden that I was substantially comfortable on with out modification.

? The floorboards are HUGE
? The position of the foot controls is adjustable.
? The saddle may be the best stock touring saddle ever built. Certainly most owners rave about it.
? The passenger has a very spacious area - No crowding.

This bike gives me so much space to move around in I can always find a position thats comfortable. I find it easy to go a full tank of gas with out stopping. 6.5 -7 hour days are no big deal. I know that at least one Vision-riders member, Varyder (sorry if I forgot anyone else), has done at least one Iron Butt on his Vision; and there are Quite a few very high mileage vision riders out there.

My only possible complaint is that the handle bars are just a little low and further back than I would like. I have not purchased the 2" shorter bars because I'm not sure that they would be an improvement. I waiting until I meet another Vision rider who has them so I can see the difference.

Get the taller shield as part of the package, otherwise you'll likely be buying a C-Baileys or Vision Tall Shield later so save the money and have the dealer give you the shield you want.. The electric adjuster is a must.

Good Luck and Welcome (and for God's sake don't ask about oil)!

6'2" -- 230 and the Vision is the FIRST and ONLY bike I have ever felt comfortable riding. You can stretch out and enjoy the ride.

6'5" 210 lbs, 36" inseam. Best bike that ever fit me.
I started out with the 2" shorter bars, that are also 1" higher, I took them off as I couldn't get comfortable and my back was bothering me. I'm back to stock and much happier, although you could push you way through corners better with the shorter bar, it changes your stance on the bike

Great Bike for us taller riders. I am 6'7" and a bit heavier than most posted so far (not Kornbread though), but have 37" arms and legs. I have no problems with the factory bars and the standard shield. As far as highway pegs go, I just lay my feet up and over the tip-overs to stretch out if needed.

In my opinion it's the best full touring bike for tall riders. I tried them all and at 6'7" 290 pounds, this bike fits like a glove.

When I read this post I think about how fine the Vision is built for many different riders.

I am 5'6", 250 lbs with a 29" inseam and the Vision fits me better then any touring bike on the market. Most of them have seat heights taller then my inseam leaving me on my toes but on the Vision I can put my heals down. It is a great design that can really fit this many different sized riders.

What I find funny in most reviews is that the "Vision cannot handle at slow speeds or in a parking lot" Bullshift! Maybe I misspelled that...

Below is a short video of the Vision in the 24' MSF Box.

The Vision is better at slow speeds than my old LT. The LT topped the vision in some aspects for sure but I like my Vision better.

I would venture to guess I may be the biggest guy on the board at 6'10" and 400 lbs the bike is great. I have done several things to improve it and have several to go but this is the best ride I have ever had. I added a tall sheild and I am now going for the C. Bailey 4" over as I would like more height. I put on a Corbin seat as it sets a little higher and is more comfortable for me. I am buying the tall riders pegs that mount on the tip overs so I can get more stretch room but bar none this is as good as it get for a tall guy. Archie

I'll chime in at 6'3", and 205lbs, in total and complete agreement with previous posts that this is the best tour bike for the taller riders. For myself, I may spring for some highway pegs at some point, but for now, I am great. I have put 8 - 10 hours in the saddle, and most of that was around town, stop and go, but have done some long stretches as well. Very comfy compared to everything else.

WOW...thanks for all the inputs. I was hoping to get a couple but my gosh 13 in one day. On other question for you at STOPS. I have a Shadow with a real low seath height and at stops w/ a 34" inseam my knees are bent (not 90% but enough that I don't have as much support as a straight or mildly bent stance). I've had a couple "near falls" because I've slipped on a white line or rolling gravel & there is not much room to get the leg back under the bike. It sounds like this is not an issue for you tall guys either? Been riding for about 15 years w/ no falls but still a concern. Thanks again for all the help. I love the forum!

I'm also a 34" inseam and holding my Vis up at stops is NO PROBLEM. The SO has a Shadow and just riding it 1 mile to the Honda dealer is terrible on my long legs.

It doesn't matter if you drop it. The tip-over guards have you covered. It won't tip over.

You will never look or feel that you are bigger than your bike. The most I worry about when coming to a stop is forgetting to put my feet down. I can get so comfortable and balanced that I will often hesitate putting my feet down until absolutely necessary.

I'm 6'8", 300 lbs, 36" inseam and have never been on a more comfortable bike. I use the tall windshield with stock handlebars and made my own cruising peg mounts. Not a better bike made for "Big" guys on the planet. My wife is 5'8", 125 lbs and has ridden my Vision too. Much bigger bike than what she cares to pilot on a daily basis but she proved she could do it.

Two other things to consider as related to overall comfort regardless of rider size. 1. If the normal riding position is with knees bent back with your feet below you, stiffness will set in relatively quickly. Almost all of the newer modern touring bikes have this rider position if viewed from the side. 2. Vibration is the number one cause of rider fatigue regardless of the riding posture. Plain and simple, you do not have this problem with a Vision. Trust me, I test rode all the major touring options offered out there these days, several times, and always came back to the Vision for the over ride comfort. 6'3" x 36" sleeve and inseam.

Hi Guys, Victory Noob here... I've got a Harley Road Glide right now and am considering a Vision. I am 6'6" and the only touring bike from HD that I felt comfortable on was the Road Glide. I went to a local Victory dealer Saturday and fell in love with the Vision. It is really setup well for the tall rider. With my RG I feel cramped after 2 or 3 hours and just have to get off, I doubt this will be the case with the Vision. So I'm starting my research on the purchase of a Vision. My main gripe with the Road Glide is helmet buffeting once I get above 45 mph or so. I've got the tall windshield installed but my full face helmet still shakes quite a bit and it's very frustrating.

Can you tall riders talk a little bit about buffeting specifically? I really don't want to get into another bike unless I can get this problem worked out. I have not ridden the Vision yet but my fear is that I'll need an extra tall windscreen, and where can I test a bike with one of those already installed?

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help in advance...

I have a tall windshield made by Victory and I have no buffeting I am 6'10" tall most of it in my body I have a 33 inch inseam. I also have looked and am about to order C. Bailey Windshield. they have a 4" over stock height. I want it for rain protection. I have ridden both Harley Road Glides and Gold Wings and I have never found wind protection equal to the Vision. I have never regreted the purchase. Archie

I am still using the Laminar Lip on my bike.

I love it and have not regretted the purchase. The wife likes the reduction in buffeting that she experiences and I dont have to look through plastic to give her the benefit of the taller shield.

When the stock shield gets too scratched to live with I may replace it with a slightly taller one; but I think the lip will remain. If you can leave the shield down the aerodynamics improve because the angle presented to the wind is significantly less than when extended.
