Yes, Kevinx has hooked me up with the cams and vfc and it's all you've heard. I've had my 08 MCP since 11/07 and put around 18k on it. I've never wished for more giddyup but I put back some cash for misc upgrades and thought I'd invest in the performance instead of more bling right now.
What can I tell you, it's addictive. I'll probably need a rear tire quicker than I would have. I'll probably have a ticket, I'll probably get bitch slapped by the wife for trying to eject her by sudden take off.
Before I let Kevin do the work I told him I never had a problem kicking down a gear and getting around most anything. He said well now you'll kick down and gear and when you twist the throttle there will be a uncontrolled Yee Haw coming out of your mouth while you do it.
I've owned many motorcycles, never considered any of them a really high performance bike, until now.
Thanks Kevin!

Forgot to mention mileage display went from an average 42.5 mpg to 47.6 over a 1,200 mile trip.

Kevinx, What is it that you do to poop these things up? Do you get into the Santa Cruz area? How much more poop? How much money?
How much time? I love the Yee Haw. I rode a friends Yamaha 1900 with a fuel chip, and I am afraid the only reason she doesn't wax me on my '08 Vision is that she doesn't really put the hammer down. Can we remedy that?

Imagine this: You're riding along with your gal on back. You downshift and open the throttle (fast and fluid; not hammering it down) and the bike suspension rocks back, topping out the front forks. You're accidently hitting the rev limiter before you shift because the bike keeps pulling to that point. You know what that feels like on the Vision? You will once you do something about the POS cams, restricted intake a nonsense fuel curve that shipped with your bike. More torque, at take off and lower speeds i.e. eliminating of most bike shudder at low speeds. More HP at a faster curve. It's a different bike after the upgrades. I did the fuel controller and twin intake myself and noticed some difference before the cams. The cams finally made the difference I was looking for. I wish I had not wasted the time installing half the stuff myself and then trying to set the tuner for my bike before getting the warmer cams. I ended up resetting the fuel controller for baseline (I thought). Having all three upgrades done at once took about 10 more minutes (max).

The poop is I replace the cams, install an intake plate, and VFC3. Cost is $1150, and yes I will come to your area, but I need four bikes to do at the same time. Along with a garage, compressor, and a pry bar. I bring everything else. Here is a typical sheet after the upgrade. Lo line is 4th gear. High line is 5th gear

Kevin,

have you any experience with the new Power Commander for the Vision?  I am considering having it installed and dyno tuned on my next service.  I am interested in what the cams, intake plate and PC will do for performance.

Results with the PC3 are no better then the results with the VFC. The PC3 however is more likely to have popping issues; as it is based strictly on RPM, and the cost for tuning is greatly increased. All of the highest power numbers I know of were ALL with the VFC including this one

Kevinx, I am definately wanting you to do your $1150 proceedure to my Vision. If I am reading your charts correctly, it nets out a 15-20% increase in power and torque. I have only seen one or two other Visions in the Santa Cruz area, and they were just passing through. So I might need to become part of another group. I am only an hour's ride from Arlen's place in Pleasanton and they sell quite a few Visions, so there must be at least four in the SF Bay Area who would like to do business with you. Does your proceedure take less than a day so I could meet you somewhere and ride home the same day? -- Considering the trip home would be 15-20% quicker than the trip over!

You maybe using factory numbers at the crank or something. It's honestly more like 40% increase. Despite what the website claims the Vision is nowhere close to a 100Hp machine (at the rear wheel where its truely measured with a dyno) off the floor.

A Stage 1 Level 1 Vision is right at 83 to 84 hp at the rear wheel and that cost you ~ $500 if you put the mufflers on or have a good dealer installing for free and do the flash for free.
A Stage 1 Level 1 Vision with the Lloyds intake plate and VFCIII, plus Lloyd tuning it on the Dyno will cost ~$600 and that gives you right at 92 to 93 hp at the rear wheel.
Add the cam and you see what you get...torgue is between 102 to 106 before the cams. This is not a guess on power and torgue or $, it is what mine did, does, and cost.

Here you go. A S1 vision chart to compare against.
As to stock mufflers. I have now done a couple with them, and they are a HOOT!! Some loss of top end power, but the low\mid is off the chain. Have not had a chance to dyno one yet, but I,m guessing it is still quite impressive

BTW....
The last sheet I posted is a wild card bike, and not real representative of the numbers seen. On average they are 107+/107+

Thanks, BW & VT, I'm starting to get the picture. When I first bought the bike, I had the Arlen Ness shop install Arlen Ness mufflers and they installed a K & M air filter. They told me that no particular tuning was required for this modification. It runs pretty well this way (haven't found a Harley that can keep up yet). So am I reading you correctly to figure that I have 83 to 84 hp at my rear wheel? And maybe 105 fp of torque? Assuming a yes answer to these, the kevinx modification would increase my hp to about 105, or 24-25% with little change to torque. This is significant, and worth $1150, and would probably keep me ahead of my ladyfriend with the 1900.
I welcome further comments.........

Most likely you have closer to 100ftLb then 105, and the LOWEST HP I have seen with this mod was still 106.9. So that is more like a 10% gain in torque, and a 27% gain in HP. Another thing you need to look at is the power curve. If you compare the S1 chart with the first[lower] chart I posted. You will see that at 4500RPM the cammed motor makes an aditional 20FtLb!!!!!!!!! While it has no loss of bottom, or mid range torque. I have been building motors since I raced MX as a kid, and I have NEVER seen anything improve performance like this set up does. Best of all there is NO DOWN SIDE

OK, I'm sold.... The 27% gain in hp is at the upper end too. Down around 3000rpm, it appears to about double. I want it. Have you heard of anyone else in the Dublin, CA, area that is interested? Now I want it yesterday, know what I mean?

I am interested as well (Sunnyvale). I am picking up my new '09 this Friday and have asked Ness in Dublin to research the Lloydz cam install. If they have confidence in doing it, they will also warranty it. I am a little reticent about foregoing my 5yr warranty, but I have been servicing my Harley at Ness for the past 3 years and think they are the best around.

My first decision point will be my 500 mi service - after my trip to Tahoe this weekend.

FYI the 09 is considerably more work, and the cam arriers need to be replaced

Sky,

It took me a few weeks to convince my GF that this was worthwhile. Trust me when I say, I scared the sh!t out of her this last weekend when I dropped a gear...hmm...was it two(?)...I can't remember. I rolled on and was moving past about 6 cars and realized after shifting twice that I was MOVIN! What a total kick! When I rolled back out and touched the brakes I heard from behind me...WAHOOOOO! No kidding! The scared part was that she didn't expect it to jump the way it did. In the past it was a run up to speed and my top end in the same scenario would have been around 90...Monday was more like 110 and change but I am not sure because I was grinning too big to see the speedo!

Suffice to say...she loves the speed and NOW the new found power!

Enjoy it! It will make you love your bike ALL OVER AGAIN! Every time I talk with Kevin, he has to hear the same old story. Ha ha! But he is gracious and listens and then says...Yup...told ya!

Kev - I have an '08 with stock everything except the upgraded Victory air filter. Has the stock factory pipes. What all would you need to do to it for your cam upgrade? I'm currently living in Atlanta.
