Can anyone (hopefully from Ness) tell me how much trouble it was to get the custom Hell's Angels badges made for Sonny Barger's bike?  I think it would be cool if we could contact that company and have our own badges made up.  The Vision-Riders logo, Vision Pilot wings or even markh's Batman logo for blacked-out bikes (see his gallery) would be over the top custom pieces.  Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

I think thats a cool idea. but i dont see that being in high demand for someone to put the R&D for it. like i said it would be cool. I bet it would be expensive too! you might want to contact someone like this. http://www.customdynamics.com

My first thought would be to just try a local sign shop. The lighted badges aren't really anything more than a piece of plastic with a picture on it and a light that shines through it, aka a sign.

Um....could Racershawn do something with this? Not much different than the console wraps he is already doing.

Just make sure you don't put anything like the HA badge on there; you may bite off some trouble you you don't want any part of. ( Yes, I realize you said "your own custom badge"; but can you imagine if someone DID put HA's on there? Don't even wanna think about it!

The badge comes off very easy once you've got the inner fairing off. From my experience it's getting all of the body work off that take a few hours. You might be able to reach it from the top or from the front if you have small hands. It's held on by two screws/small bolts.

I have a burned out badge setting on my tool box at work. I will look into how it could be taken apart tomorrow. I know the back section is sealed LED's. I am not sure if it is a fully molded/solid piece.

She just loves it in the dealers workshop, any excuse to go back there !!! . Got hit by a car, my left foot took the impact to protect the gearshift and cost me one toe and a couple of months in hospital but both of us (bike and me) are on the mend and my dealer promised i'd have her back for Christmas. Insurance company not to happy....very expensive plastic panels.

Glad to hear your well. Hope you have a Merry Christmas

What color was your Vision and are you going to keep that color or try another?

I have not forgotten the photos of the lighted badge. I got busy at work today and forgot to bring it home. The badge can be seperated from the LED back plate. It is all hot glued together, so once you break it apart, you can easily glue it back together. I will try and get the photos up tomorrow night.

Jacques,

Your dealer has learned more about Vision's than nearly any dealer in the world, thanks to your bike.

Sorry you've had such a rough first year.  Get well soon and keep us posted.  Great hearing from across the pond but want to get the good with the bad.

I have the photos of the badge as it is taken apart. The main assembly can be taken out of the chrome ring and the top layer (logo) peeled off and then you can apply anything you want.

dwhite28,

This looks like quite an opportunity for customizing.

What is the trick to getting the two screws out of the main assembly? Could you reach them from inside the fairing?

Thanks!
