| I only have 300 miles on my 10th anniversary Vision, so I have not puched it yet. I was cruising at 90mph Friday on the way home from the dealer in 6th gear with no effort at all. I will take it out and run it a little harder this afternoon and let you know.

| 123 and she had much more to go but I normally do the speed limit.
In my opinion the Visions strength is NOT how fast she'll go, but how quickly she gets there. |

Alberta, Canada | My speedometer goes up to 180 K which is approx. 110 mph and I had lots of throttle left. That was around 4000 rpm. It drives wonderful at that speed too!!! |

Well, since the Vision is rev limited in 6th gear to 4500 RPM, you will see that you will only be able to do 120mph. I did it on my last long distance trip. I was riding along and had to pass someone (well, I guess I didn't have too...LOL) and rolled on the throttle. For some reason, I just forgot to roll back off. I had my GPS on and watching the top speed (which is only about 2mph off from GPS speed which I believe to be very accurate) hit 120...it stayed there for a few seconds and then started sputtering like I hit the rev limiter. I got to my destination and immediately looked it up. YUP! I wasn't happy!
SO, now I want to know if anyone knows how to remove the govern?
OH...BTW - this bike rides well at ANY speed! |

San Antonio, TX | The tires are only rated for 120 MPH. If you figure out how to bypass the limiter you better put on faster rated tires.
I wonder what face the guy behind the counter will make when the question is asked, "What 160 MPH rated tires do you have for my 890 pound Victory Vision Tour? Do they come in white walls?"
I think someone did the math and the red line in sixth gear is about 144 MPH.
You guys have fun at that speed and I will have mine much closer to the posted limits.

New Bohemia, VA | I refuse to answer that on the grounds I may incriminate myself. I'll say this though, I've had it up to enough and even had a State Police on my tail. I never knew and still today don't know why he didn't pull, but I was moving fast enough. It was night and I didn't know it was a SP. But I have to say it was still in the double digit range. For the most, I don't find myself faster than I need too and that is the speed limit. Well... |

So Cal | I was at 110 once when someone decided they wanted to share my lane. After I changed my shorts, I decided LA is not the place for that kind of speed. |

Just last week a friend of mine on his Road Star passed me with good intentions to outrun me and before I knew it I was at 115 and the Roadie nowhere in sight. He said that I passed him like he was standing still and he decided to back off at 100. I still had throttle left at that speed but decided that enough was enough. This big bike will get up and go. I normally do not ride at high speeds like this but this thing took off and even at 115 it was smooth as ice. Gotta love it!!

Linwood, MI | I think y'all will find it a tad easier to hit a top speed in 5th gear. Not only is 5th a 1:1 ratio, it also has a higher rev limit than 6th.
However, as radioteach mentioned, the reason for the limit is the speed rating on the tires. You generate a lot of heat on the rubber at high speeds and travelling faster than what your tires are rated for is a good way to shred them. Needless to say, on a motorcycle this would be disasterous. |

Reno County, KS | Over 80 in 3rd gear but the math doesn't make sense. When I get back I'll look through the service manual for rev limiter specs. There's obviously different set points for each of the gears. Will a Loyd's/Power Commander remove the shut down? |

| 120 mph on gps, a touch over 120 on speedo, but the increments are so small after 120 there is no way to tell. The bike is definately limited to 120 on gps, even downhill you cannot exceed 120...I tried... |

The rev limiter on the Vision is set for 5,400 rpm in 1st through 5th gears and 4,450 rpm in neutral and 6th gear. I have talked with Lloyd on this and I believe he is working on a way to overide the Vision computer on the rev limiter. |

Sparta, WI | 108 riding two up with a full load, trunk and neither one of us are light weights. We backed off cuz cars were up in front of us and we were running out of space. My buddy was on a 1600 Valkrie and wanted to see what the Vision would do. We started pulling away from the Valkrie just before we had to back off and he was one up. She was just starting to roll. |

So Cal | 1st & 2nd gear are right on the money with the rev limiter. 3&4 seem to allow some over. 5&6 110 is as far as I got till conditions said stop. 80 is my normal limit, so I'm happy, 45 mpg at that speed helps. |

Austin, Texas | Mine goes a lot faster than I am brave. Typically my highway cruise is at 80. Went forever at 80 over the weekend two-up and my wife didn't even slap the back of my helmet. She didn't realize how fast we were going. On my Kingpin, she'd be diggin' in at 75, holding on for dear life mainly because of the wind buffeting. I'm convinced she has been taking naps on the back of the Vision. |

First two-wheel ride I have ever been on that is rock steady at 160kmh and not breathing hard. My Chrysler 300 is scarrier at that speed (but maybe just in my head). |

Woodland Hills, CA | My only problem with checking the speed is that my SO, while much more comfortable at speed than she was on the Harley, can read the speedo much easier. And while that tap on my shoulder now comes at 75 instead of 70, I have only managed about 95 without a complete meltdown from the back seat. I guess I need to ride solo more often (Right!). |

Now, if someone could just fool the ECM into thinking we were still in 5th gear while in 6th gear, we could probably see 130 with a good stiff tailwind and a long downhill run.  BTW, the GL1800 uses the same tires, and they will hit 130 with a good stiff tailwind and a downhill run. Not that I would know personally, or anything.

This past weekend I had an opportunity to do a roll on in 5th gear with a GL1800. Starting at 70mph and running up to 115 mph. Both bikes were even all the way up to 105 mph, that's when the Vision started to pull away from the GL1800. |
