| I PRESENTLY OWN A GOLDWING AND AM LOOKING AT A 2008 VISION WHICH I POSTED. MY CONCERN IS IF ANY GOLDWING OWNERS MADE THE SWITCH AND AM HAPPY WITH THE VISION. A BIG CONCERN IS THE BODY PARTS OF THE VISION AND IF THEY HOLD UP. ANY COMMENTS WILL BE APPRECIATED.

+1. Like the sitting position as well as is is better on my hips and lower back. SO even admits she likes it better or as good as the wing.
Things I don't like:
Electronics are not as plug and play but there are many vids on youtube with some do it yourself directions. The CB was $400 more for the unit and I will have to pay for installation as it is above my comfort level and tool supply.
I have a bushtec trailer hitch and cannot do darkside like I would like. Tires are harder to install. Can't lay the Vision over like the Wing and just yank off and go to Walmart to have them install tire, come back and install and in less than 1 hour total, be on a ride.
I would put the handling as good or a little better than the wing. Ride in twisties is like a float of a grand touring car, instead of like a jumbo crotch rocket. ( I enjoy both, they are just different)
Not as many aftermarket shiny parts if that is your thing and some that are available are not cheap.
All in all, I was on a VTX when they first came out and encountered the same thing in the aftermarket arena so it is not something that is a big deal to me. Spent 10 years on Wings, with custom seats, risers, Mic O Pegs, etc, and the VV is just stock. Going to CO twice this year and to Phoenix and won't miss anything except the CB radio. There are just too many things on the VV that are so much better for my riding today.
My favorite difference is the adjustable windshield.  |

I couldn't ride more than 80 - 100 miles and my ass was screaming. 1st longer ride on the VV was almost 3 hours and never got sore. VV is not a heavy pig like the GW is in slow maneuvers. IMHO a wing isn't in the same class. 50 K in 2 years and no issues. |

Pittsburgh, PA | a few things i liked about my friends 2010 wing were. standard reverse and center stand. but what he really wish he had was 6th gear and the power windshield. imagine there is more, but thats what stands out the more to me right now |

| IMHO the wing isnt very good fir anyone with larger feet or long legs. The Vision on the other hand, is great. |

| No. No truth to that. F6b has more hp and tq. At a price of 19,900 for a base f6b it is lacking many goodies. Not a lot of mods can improve the Hondas perf. For only 1500.00 with Kevinx, still cheaper than a f6b with comparible equip, the vision with cams will have more power, more torque, more comfort, more room, better handling, etc.
Good luck. I love the wings, just need a v-twin, wing seemed like a covertible civic to me. Vision feels like a motorcycle. But that's just me. |

New Bohemia, VA | Sure, many can tolerate the riding position, I'm just not one of them. I know a die-hard Wing rider who had a 1 hour ride rule, for safety reasons. Hmmmm, that's about as long as I can push it, then becomes very painful. |

He has also completed 2 BBG Trifecta's - (4500+ miles in 3 days) He finished 9th in the Iron Butt Rally. Many IBR's done on BMW, HD's, and other bikes. Does not mean that any of them would be more comfortable for another rider. I have 2 Saddlesores and a Bun Burner on wings, decked out with custom seats, risers, micopegs and I have one Bun Burner on the Vison. All were similar, but the Vision was stock and I was more comfortable after that ride than any others. |

I cross-shopped the 2013 'Wing with the Vision along with the touring offerings from HD.
In the end, the Vision fit me better. It is far more comfortable "for me" and I personally like the styling. I have a number of friends in MC clubs that shake their heads on the Vision styling but I didn't buy to impress anyone but me.
I respect the hell out of the 'Wing but the Vision is a different feel. With a handful of tweaks, it is a superb performer (as if it was a slouch stock) and it is quite a head turner.
Go ride one, new or borrowed from an owner and make up your own mind. I can say that honestly if I hadn't ridden one, I'm not sure I would have bought one mainly due to the polarizing styling. It really does ride that good...

He had a few mods to it though, like a bigger fuel tank and a different seat. Not sure what other mods he had done, but to my understanding that wasn't his first rodeo. It was Saddlesore.

| Ride one and you will own one. There is a reason Victory picked this tag line - they listened to their customers. With that said, don't listen to some old guy with long arthritic legs (varider), and get on one for a test ride.
Technically the Vision has fewer body panels then a Goldwing, hence there are fewer joints. Plus the long distance runners here (100k+) haven't had any failures, rattles, but no failures. I dropped mine on a bollard (tip overs don't work well under those conditions), it punched a 6" hole in the side panel and support, but it was rock solid. So I was able to ride it for a week or 2 until I got it fixed, and even with the damage it didn't rattle. Plus the ABS panels were thick enough to allow me to do a DIY fiberglass repair that is now 3 years old and holding strong. The trunk is a different story, and there are cheap solutions posted here to fix that.
