I went to the Victory site and I'm having a little trouble telling the exact changes in this model from 2008 to 2009.

Is XM radio and GPS now standard?

No they are not. Also they raised the price of the vision and some of the accessories including the CB / Intercom.

I am glad I bought a 2008 model.

I looked at the Victory website and I too am glad I didn't wait to buy my Vision. Reverse would be nice to have if it was standard, but I would have passed on it if it was available in 2008 for that price. Somebody at Victory loves the silver accents. I really expected a solid color being offered. For the people that waited, 4.99% financing for 72 months is being offered on 2008 models. The dealer in Sarasota, Fl. had 2 silver and 1 black in the showroom last week.

I have to admit that the Anniversary edition red is pretty sweet but they went 2 tone with the black. Reminds me of the crud Hardley did to their bikes. Also, I hate when they slap a name plate every 1.5 linear ft. of the bike. That is; yet again, another Hardley Davidson move. Those of us that are interested KNOW it's a Victory. We get that. What's the next step? They're gonna paint Victory all over the side of the bike? When I first seen this thread, I read that they offer the bike in a blue color (which I thought I would want). Then I seen the blue that they offered it in. It's...Well...gay!!! Who the Hell paints a big tour bike a pastel color? LOL Fellas, if Victory keeps making this flavor of design "enhancements" on the Vision, we may not ever have to worry about what the next gen.! Nothing against Victory but I have a feeling that this year the Vision styling team did not include Ness. I am honestly glad that they don't offer the Super Steel Gray with the Street Premo any longer (I don't want to see 100 clones of mine on the road) but I can't believe they replaced it with Super Gay Blue... I'm with you guys on the 08's. Glad I bought it when I did, even if it was a month before the new models were announced.

In doing some more studying of the 2009 line up it appears they list for $1,200 more than the 2008 models and the differences I see is that the 2009 comes with Billet wheels. They do not make it clear what all chrome pieces are included in the premium packages.

Looking at the 2009 catalog for accessories they have added some really nice options including:

  • New leather seat with driver backrest $899.99
  • Reverse option for only 09 models, $1,399.99
  • Solo touring bag, $229.99
  • Cup holder that requires 3 parts. Total $72.97
  • Polished controls – both left and right, $549.99
  • Chromed rear master cylinder cover, $29.99
  • Chromed rear engine strap cover, $44.99
  • Chrome heel toe shifter, $169.99
  • Chrome rear tip over protection covers, $229.99
  • Chrome mirror trim, $29.99
  • Chrome front fender accent, $49.99
  • Fairing rubber toe kick protector, $34.99
  • Chrome rear valence, $149.99
  • Chrome trunk lock button, $34.99

They don’t show an option in the 2009 catalog for chromed lower forks and it is not clear if they are included in the tour premium models for 2009.
Also it is not clear if the Solid Midnight Cherry or Solid Blue Ice colors have any metal flake in them like the current Midnight Cherry.

I had earlier mentioned in another post that they had raised the price on some of the options but after further review they haven’t. I was looking at the bundle pricing for the CB and XM radio that included other required accessories such as antenna, wiring harness etc.

I would expect they have made some other minor adjustments or improvements that have not been mentioned as of yet just like they have done on other models from year to year.

Actually I like the Blue Ice and no, I'm not gay. I also kinda like the two tone Anniversary treatment. I just might add the black treatment to my grey lady. It accents the lines of the bike quite well.

It was due to the reward they offered to first year buyers. They had to raise the price for the second year but the good news is there are still 2008 models to be had.

I wonder if the 09's have a dimple in the right bag? Still haven't got Victory to replace it, but the longer time passes I might just keep the dimple bag, could be a collectors item- Hmmmmm

It's interesting to see the 09's roll out with continued interest in the Vision, but it kinda makes me smile to know I have had one for about 10 months and have had that pleasure ahead of the crowd- Ride Baby Ride-16,000k and lovin it!

Looks at the pictures like the wheels are the same as the 08. The base price on the build your own is just over $23k, but when you click on the Vision Tour Premium the price is over $25k. I'm sure the dealers will clear all of this up. But just my thought, maybe the pre-orders are cheaper by a couple grand.
I like some of the small chrome items that are offered, especially the rear master brake cylinder chrome cover. I'm not a fan of a lot of chrome, did that on my Kingpin, but covering that cylinder would be nice.
Looking at the clothing, only a couple of new "T" shirts that interest me.
Also, Ice Blue looks good, but the SSG is now a classic, only offered first year and maybe not again. I can see it now, my SSG will resale for $$$$$ more than the black and M/C.
If you see a SSG out there, you better buy it now before the dealer raises the price on it.

Ok, I just went back to the site and the Billet wheels looks like it comes with the +$25K price. When you go to the order set up, it has the same wheels as the 08, and you have to add the Billet wheels. So I don't think the Billet wheels are standard on the premium. Anyone see it different?

I like the rear engine mount covers. I think they will look much better than the Ness chrome replacement mount and should be a whole lot less work to put on.

If you go to the Vision Tour Premium tab off of the Victory main page the base price for the black tour premium is $22,699. The Midnight Cherry and Blue Ice colors are $500.00 more at $23,199. While on this page if you scroll down on the left side of this page where it lists all the features you will see Billet Wheels listed.

If you go to the Build & Quote site for the Vision and select touring models along the bottom of the page to the right and then the different premium tour models and the base price’s that come up for me are the same, $22,699 for the black and $23,199 for the other two colors.

So they raised the price on the tour premium $1,200.00 a model and included Billet wheels which if you wanted billet wheels is a great deal.

Well, it looks more like they "improved" the accessories than the bike. Except for the blue ice color and the anniversary (very limited, so not really part of the discussion) they didn't change much of anything. Waiting for an '09 would not appear to be much of a payoff unless you wanted to hand out more to being with and another $1300 for reverse, which I doubt most would buy - especially at that price. No ABS, no mention of a radio reception fix, swap of gray for blue color, etc. I like some of the new accessories but many of them continue to be very highly priced. Overall, I'm happy with my 2008, only recently bought and I could have waited for an '09. It would have been a waste of waiting time IMO and more expensive for no significant gain. Unless you are one of the luck 100, a ho-hum update IMO.

Spock, when I go to the main page and click on Touring, and then on the Tour Premium, the price is $25,309 and when I look at the overview of this bike, it show the Billet wheels and premium chrome, in addition to standard premium stuff.
When I go to the Build & Quote, go to Touring, and click on the black Tour Premium and the base price is $22,699. All the options for the bike are listed to the left. On that list is two types of Billet wheels, one set for $1999 and one for $2399. The picture of the Vision Tour Premium on the screen shows the same wheel as installed on the 08 bikes. So, I don't think they added the Billet wheel to the base price. They just raised in ~$1200, we will see when they hit the showroom.

VisionTex I have tried to get the numbers you are getting and can't. To help figure this out I have done some screen shots of the website showing the pricing I get from the site. It is clear to me from these screen shots that Billet wheels are standard on the tour premium. Many of the pictures used on this site of the Vision are from last year applied over a new background. You will notice that many of the pictures show the early 2008 pre-production silver engine instead of the black coated engines.

I love the new Blue color. When looking at the wallpaper, you can plainly see that it's metallic. I also think that the aluminum pieces look great with the blue, so I don't have to waste money on chrome (which looks great with black or the midnight cherry). The best part is that my Wife also loves the color.

Happy Wife, happy life!

If you look at this wallpaper image of a 2009 Tour Premium, you can see that it has billet wheels & chrome forks. Hopefully this is the way they'll come.
