The vibe is fine. HD riders (and Sturgis in general) have mellowed over the years. Even Jap bikes are accepted in most parts. Many HD riders are accepting of Victory bikes (some even envious). They all have heard how dependable and fast Victorys are. Have a great time, just bring lots of cash!

Prices of everyday things are much higher that week. There are many ATMs that dispense only $50 bills and then charge you $10 for the convenience!

No problem, I rode my 08 to Sturgis, stayed at the Ramada in Rapid City. There was probably 1000 Harleys at the hotel maybe 15 Victorys. They all thought mine looked pretty cool....... No drama, great times.......

No one will ever give you a second look. Plenty of vision there and every think you can think of. You don't say where you live so no one can ride with you.
Go to the victory tent say hi to Arlen Ness he rides his vision from Ca.

If you don't have a room you'll be camping for sure. Please don't sleep in get out an ride there are so many beautiful roads that you will not see all I'm sure

Sturgis was the first place I took my Vision. Nobody will look twice. I have been going there for almost 3 decades riding Harleys, Buells, Customs, Hyabusa, ST1300, Aprillia, B-King, BMWs, etc. and all are accepted. Just ride it there!

It's not like you're riding your Vision to an outlaw clubhouse. There are people from everywhere on anything you can think of and some things you never thought of. I have been 4 times , first time on my Vision last year. The Vision is imho, the best platform from which to take in the countrside of the area or any area for that matter.

Yes you are right about being the best platform: When I left Sturgis I rode another 5000+ miles on my 3 week bike trip last summer......7150 total miles.....

I did something similar! I went another 4000+ after sturgis for a total of about 5800 miles but I had to do it all in 6 days (I only spent one night in Sturgis) because I was out of vacation days at work but it was so amazing. I would love to have 3 weeks! Maybe one day at retirement, Lord willing.

My question is where did you get the idea Victory or any other brands are not treated kindly? The internet? Been taking my Victory to Sturgis since 2000. Most years I ride.
Do you honestly believe someone riding a Victory will be treated badly. It would be the person being a jerk rather than the brand bike. Let's see, the president of the Hell's Angels owns and rides a Vision do you think someone is going to torch his ride?
You have a better chance at being arrested or ticketed then being harassed about what your ride except from the trailer queens.

I'm going with my Vision. My buddy has room in his trailer for two more bikes if anyone is interested. He is going to sell the spots. Trailer leaves from Las Vegas.

I'll go there. Why would you trailer a Vision? Its 1000 miles to Sturgis from Vegas. You could do that in a day and qualify for a Iron Butt award or a day and a half if you want to take it easy. It will take a day to drive there in a truck anyway. I would rather spend a couple extra days on the road even if I had to cut them off my time in Sturgis. IMO trailers are great for choppers and non-touring bikes but I can't believe the number of electra-glides and street glides being towed. Certainly not a Vision. If your ol lady won't ride out have her fly and pick her up in Rapid City. To each thier own, you will have fun either way but will kick yourself for being a wussy.
JUST RIDE!

For me its about time. I wish I could ride it. I'm flying in. And for my buddy he is bringing a crazy 4 engine bike. He is towing the bikes with the RV we are staying in. He makes crazy shit. You might have seen him and his dual engine roadster on the TV show Counting Cars.
