Kevin Cameron just posted a picture on FaceBook. The New Indian engine has a one piece crank and side by side rods similar to our Victory freedom engines.........

New Indian: a modern, forged steel, one-piece, plain-bearing crankshaft. You can see the 35-tooth timing wheel on the end that has a missing tooth to identify TDC. A single crankpin accommodates two side-by-side connecting rods. This is a rugged piece.....Kevin Cameron, Cycle World editor.

Knowing Kevin Cameron has a Facebook page is almost enough for me to join! I like reading his column, even if it takes me a few reads to comprehend.

This looks like the display that Indian had at the Minneapolis bike show.

BTW, the Indian booth was a very busy place all day on Saturday...

Yeah, it'd need a few more crank journals for that. Guess we'll have another V Twin, Hope it's a big one and maybe DOHC to distinguish it from the Victory engines..........

Damn, I hope not. Waste to have such a nice bottom end with a 1936 inspired top end...........

During Scott Wine's (CEO Polaris) interview the other day he specifically mentioned the current $35,000 price of the Indian was too high. I would expect a sub $30,000 price tag.

I don't remember where I read it, but one of the magazines that announced the new Indian said that pricing would be comparable to HD and Victory. Low 80 horsepower at the wheel would be on par with the stock Victory 106. Maybe Lloyd will take a look at the new Indian motor too.

I am pretty sure those are the prices for the 2013's that are based off the Kings Mountain Bike. The "new" Indian (2013 1/2-2014?) have not been published yet.

Here's a video of CEO Scott Wine being interviewed on CNBC. He talks about the Indian brand and mentions the engine as well as a iphone app they just released.

The new Indian Motorcycle engine will be revealed during Daytona Beach Bike Week next month. The public is invited to see and hear the actual engine on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 9 p.m. (EST) at Dirty Harry?s Pub on Main Street in Daytona Beach, Florida. This will be the first place that the public can see and hear the engine that has been in development from a blank sheet of paper for the past two years.

So it's almost here, I'm going down on Monday the 11th so I'll make sure and go see the new engine sometime during BikeWeek...........
