| Thanks to everyone on this site that share their experiences with their Victory's. I have a 2008 Premium Tour that I run without the trunk, Big Honkers, intake plate filter, fuel controller and auto tuner. I guess the only thing left is the cams. I also have a 2007 Kingpin with Ross 2 in 1 exhaust, S&S Intake and download. I had it dyno and it's putting out 95 HP with 103 lbs of torque. I had a buddy ride the Vision and I barely pulled him on the Kingpin telling me that the Vision is running pretty good.
I contacted Kevin at the dealership in Gainesville, FL and he would do the cams for about $1200. My question: is it worth it? Any insight is appreciated.

New Orleans, La, | If that 1200 includes the cams and everything that is a good deal. The cams are 520.00, plus gaskets, cam lube,and of course the labor done by a crack Victory wrench I call that a honey of a deal. Hurry before the price increase. Miles of smiles. |

I have cams, intake, stage1 exhaust, Fuel controller and it dynoed at 106 HP and 106 TQ. |

Rhode Island | Figure out what you want for performance (low end torque or high end) then talk to Kevin or Lloyd about it. Lloyd has an adjustable air intake and adjustable timing that they may suggest also depending on what you are after. |

Lots of people from Tampa come here for performance work. It's only a couple hours ride, and you can be at the house for breakfast, and dinner in the same day |

I second these thoughts. Adding cams will shift your TQ curve higher in the RPM band, pretty much necessitating a rev limit increase (either with Lloydz reprogrammed ECU, or a PC-V ). With the loss of low end TQ, your KP will walk away from your Vision much more noticeably until you get your RPMs up. There are a couple of things you can do to reclaim most of the low end TQ with the cams, such as adding the Lloydz timing wheel and applying 2-4 degrees of advance, along with Lloydz' "adjustable intake" (essentially, a velocity stack for the Vision's throttle body). You can get back most, but not all of your low end TQ with these two additional items.
The setup you have now, with the top filter and big honkers is about as good as it gets for making great low end TQ on a Vision without motor upgrades. Every dyno chart I have seen shows the Honkers with the best looking TQ curve around. It comes up sooner, and has a great looking shape (lots of area under the curve). Other exhaust may peak slightly higher, but none yield more TQ where you need it. I would definitely consider how you ride before making any leap.

| Thanks everybody and particularly Turk. I ran into some unexpected expenses and the cams wasn't on the front of my mind anymore. I think I need to have more conversation with Kevinx before I leap which would be late Spring now. |

Lloydz adjustable intake along with his timing gear (wheel) will give you more low end TQ. If I had to do one OR the other, I would go with the intake first! |

I haven't measured, but it seems like it was around 2" tall. Yes, the "adjustable" part is in the swappable sleeves. I think it's a 42-43mm insert for most applications to increase velocity, and the 46mm sleeve insert is for larger bore/compression motors.
I went with the smaller sleeve, and it noticeably gave back a lot of the low end TQ I lost with the VM-1 cams.
