Are you talking about the black rubber pad that goes on the kickstand? I replaced mine with a new one from the dealer. Had to cut off the old one with a hacksaw and rivet the new one on.

Witchdoctor has extensions in black, chrome and silver. $20-$34. You lose the rubber pad, though.

I'd recommend trying to somehow keep the rubber pad. That pad does work to help return the sidestand into the stowed position; in the event that you inadverently forget to put it up before taking off (been there, done that). That is the primary purpose of the rubber pad.

Not sure if you could somehow remount it when using the extension though.

You guys are working the wrong end of the side stand, Banjodan is speaking about the microscopic nub that hugs the exhaust pipe and is supposed to be used to extend the side stand from it's 'stowed' or 'up' position to the 'extended' or 'down' position and what a P.I.T.A. it is to locate, grasp with a waffle like boot heel, and extend so the bike doesn't land on the tip over or frying your calf on the pipe, he's NOT talking about the traction pad on the bottom that touches the ground when the stand is extended. It ain't that hard, stop over thinking simple stuff-

thanks willtill. didnt know the pad was a saftey thing. i have forgot [several times] to raise the stand, with no mishaps. i better keep the rubber pad. i'll give it some more thought. maybe i can clamp a small tab or something close to the [micronub] lol. to make it easier to locate.

hardware stores sell narrow strips of aluminum you can bend it the way you want. Drill out the two rivets and bolt your custom made peace to the top of the rubber boot. You can get button head allen at the same hardware store.

Just drilled a hole and bolted a 3/4 spacer on the end, works great!

While you can mod it, you can also practice the placement of your heel to drop it like second nature.

No enhancements needed to find the tang, right, Don?

Don't the newer Visions have an extension on the kickstand stock? Anyone know if a new kickstand will fit on an 08~09 bike?

Here is the stock stand for a 2012. This way you get an extention that looks clean and you get to keep the rubber thingy. Now, does anyone know if a 2012 kickstand will fit Banjodan's 2009?

I'm pretty sure my '12 Vision doesn't have that extra part on it. I'll have to double check when I get home.

I put a chrome one on my Vision and it helps quite a bit. Hardest part is hack sawing the stock rivets off.

If that's a kickstand for a '12 Vision, it's some sort of aftermarket. It's NOT stock.
