Well, I wasn't going to but here goes. Just received my Passenger backrest manufactured by, Witch Doctor's via, Cycle Solution's. Are you F-IN KIDDING ME!!!!!!!! The absolute worst purchase I've EVER made for any of the bike's I've owned. The weld's look like SHIT, THERE IS BARLEY ANY PADDING,AND THE COVERING LOOK'S LIKE A 5 YR. OLD WAS HIRED TO CUT AND SEW IT. The angle of the backrest is so BAD, the Ol'Lady said " she feels like she's leaning over a handrail backwards. FOR $513.32, THIS IS NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING!!!!!!! WILL NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE PRODUCED BY WITCH DOCTOR'S OR SOLD BY CYCLE SOLUTION'S. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO PUT THERE NAME'S ON THIS PRODUCT.
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, SHOULD BE PUNISHABLE BY FIRING SQUAD!!!!!!!!

Sorry you didnt like the backrest. I guess if you had a problem the right thing would have been to contact either Cycle Solutions or Myself as to what issues you were having before slamming me on here. But with that said some just want to complain and not offer a solution or give either of us the chance to make it right.

Here is the truth.. The backrests are all welded by a certified welder so I'm not sure what your problem is with the welds. Can you post a picture of whats wrong? I and a few others would like to see whats wrong. The "angle" you describe as not being comfortable, its the exact same as the one Victory made and discontinued and 1000's of people are happy with it. The one fact you do have somewhat correct is the foam. We made it with basically the same foam that is inside the Cross bike backrests so it is a little softer and more comfortable. When we tested it out people told us they really liked it. HOWEVER I have had 3 people out of 56 backrests that we sold tell us that it could be a little more firm. I personally agree that it should be more firm BUT I gave my customers what they liked. I have continued to look into whether or not to increase the density but am still on the fence about it. As far as the sewing and material- Again can you post a picture? These are sewn by an extremely reputable upholstery shop who actually is related to a fellow Victory rider who recommended them to me. One fact that you didn't mention and no one else has either is that the material doesn't 100% match the factory material. Its very close and since no one has mentioned it, it obviously looks great but in my opinion I can do better and will on the next batch.

What you should have done before you started slamming me was give Cycle solutions or myself a call to discuss your comments. You never did. If there was a genuine problem I would have fixed it before you installed it. What baffles me is that IF it was as bad as you say why didn't you call? Who in their right mind would spend $500 on something so JUNK as you say, and not ask for a refund or at least call me to complain? I'm assuming your bike is nice so why would you install it if its as bad as you say? The world would like to know...

By the way- I'm proud to put my name on any product I sell. As a matter of fact Ness bought 20 of the backrests from me and so have a lot of dealers and they all love them. YOU should be ashamed of acting the way you have.

If anyone else has bought a backrest or any of my products and has any issues, even something simple, please PM me, email me at jwitchdoctor@aol.com or call at 330-974-2056 and let me know. I'm always looking to improve parts in any way that makes it better, easier to install or translates to a lower cost for you.

Thanks
Dr

I have bought LOTS of things from Jon at witchdoctor, he is by far one of the nicest guys and FAIREST men in the cycle industry. I have one of the backrest and I have no complaints about it at all. I have seen the one that USE TO be available from victory and Jon's is just as good if not better. I was shocked to see victory had velcro along the whole bottom of the backrest but that is what they sold and now you can't even get one from them. Granted not every single thing someone makes comes out perfect and employees jusr ship things out with out even looking over the product but it happens. I think the right thing to do would have been to call and see if witchdoctor or CYCLE Solutions could correct the issue. Also the guy should have seen what victory use to sell. You would laugh at that. I will continue to buy from Jon for all my victory stuff he is by far still one of the best dealers for aftermarket parts.

I've never bought anything from witchdoctor but to slam a man and his product without contacting him and giving him a chance to correct a problem or refunding money is wrong.

+1 I've met Jon a number of times at the Southeast Victory rally and though I haven't bought anything from him, I've seen his very high quality products, both on his display racks and on bikes at the rallys.

Jon, I'll give you props as to how you handled the situation in this case. You should have been given an opportunity to resolve the issue prior to the customer throwing you under the bus...

I guess the old saying, that their are always two sides of a story. Definitely applies here!

Thank you sir.

First, I did try to call 2 days no answer and wasn't leaving a message. Second, I waited since May to actually purchase a backrest. And lastly everyone is charging $500.00 for these things, and one of my friends said, FUCK IT, now we have something to work with. So tore it apart, new padding, and re-covered. Why didn't ANYONE respond to my post, earlier. IT TOOK LONG ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE. And its got nothing to do with KARMA, When making a purchase, and not satisfied you try the reasonable route, then VENT. Last time I checked I'm still living in AMERICA.

forums originated from the old bulletin board, now they're just bully boards. I don't think this is a small claims court so why don't you all take your issues elsewhere.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your backrest purchase. I don't understand your reluctance to leave a message. I'm sure you would have received a reply but you never gave Jon a chance to address your problem. Doesn't sound like he even knew of it until he read about here.

John (BBQWIZ),

Thank you for your rant and your speaking out!

As someone here who also sells custom made Vision part(s) I have now added you to my DO NOT SELL TO list because as a businessman I reserve the right to NOT sell to anyone if I do not want to.

What I am wondering is, do you rant like this when you do not win at a BBQ competition out there in New York? I have friends that compete out there and I'll have to pass them along your name to see if that is the case.

Good luck buying from any other vendor of custom Victory accessories, being such a small community word gets around real fast as to who not to sell to.

WitchDoctor goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. While you can not please everyone if you had given him the chance I can assure you he would've done everything in his power to resolve any legitimate complaints you had.

I agree with varyder...Take your issues to court or contact Jon directly and try to resolve your issues with vendor...No one on this site can remedy your purchase...Venting to those who cannot help is not going to make you happy!!!!!

I support BBQWIZ's right to voice his anger and disappointment in what he see's as a poor product. On the flip side, it is hard to understand why anyone would go postal before trying to resolve the issue, or return the product for a refund. Calling for 2 days (no mention of how many calls were made) and not leaving a message isn't really conducive to resolving a a product/consumer issue. And there was no mention of an attempt to e-mail, send a PM or make any other type of contact to resolve this issue. Without at least making an honest effort to let the vendor resolve the issue, it's really just blowing smoke up everyone's arse.

Sorry BBQWIZ. I support your right to vent, but by your own words you screwed the pooch in this case and everone here seems to realize that. Next time, leave a message!

You bitch that it took long enough for everyone to speak up but you posted in the review forum which doesn't offer a reply option and probably isn't frequented that much-especially if you aren't in the market for a back rest. Jeff noticed and brought it out into the open. Jon's website has a contact us page-if you didn't want to leave a message you could have left an e-mail. I look at customer reviews like an olympic judge-throw out the high and low scores. Jon has had many compliments on his products and except for this issue, I can't think of anyone unhappy with their dealing with him. His reputation here is pristine. You lost a leg to stand on when you came on and smeared him here when he didn't even know an issue existed. If the situation was reversed I doubt you could or would have handled it as professionally as Jon did here. You shouldn't really expect much support on this because you never gave him the opportunity to make it right. In my opinion, and I think many that weighed in here would agree, I think you owe him an apology but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

Just got my magnetic drain plugs from Jon along with extra copper gaskets and am very pleased. Wounder if you let someone influence your buyin decision - you wife or girlfriend, credit card bill? Or the other option to your over the top response, was drinkin involved? If I do not like what I receive I will be like a rhino and take my situation. drive it to the root cause. I have messed up here before and had to back peddle and do the right thing, we are all human. If you response to my response is still what you have been posting then : I hope to see you at a BBQ so I can come to terms with what kind of a genius you are and we will go from there, ohh I forgot you live in NY so now you will tell the powers that be I did something that threatens your life and liberty and on and on and on..... Good Luck with you issues my friend. Jeff, if this was my site, unless he can come back with something that makes sense I would drop him, I truly hope he can explain his statements, I do not think he meant what he said and was just pissed about the product he received, that I can understand but Jon does not deserve press like this unless it is continual, Sorry I blew up but I will stand for no man to be above or below the other....

Put me on your list, oh boy.As for the BBQ, send your friend's. See prior. Yes, I said (MY ASS). Opas ride, YES IT DID MAKE ME HAPPY TO TELL EVERYONE THAT I WASN'T HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE!!!!!! Jerry the kingpin, was that enough (MAN UP) for you or should I have made some threat's to do harm, to anyone here making a comment about my rant. Like I said in my second post, the backrest has had new padding, and leather put on it. I took care of it. Look's great, and ol'lady said, very comfy now. THANK YOU, Witch Doctor for selling me something to start with.
