Who is running Vision apes?  I would like some feedback from those who are.  Height and comfort is what I'm looking for.

Interesting. I know a few folks that live by them because of the comfort. Having issues that may take me from riding, want to see if they will help. Have you had apes on a bike?

The people i know that have them that claim they Arent a issue also do as much riding in 3 years as you do in a month.... i guess it depends on how High the apes are... usually apes arent associated with people who ride long distances. and youre name is in the Dictionary under Iron Butt.

I do know folks who ride coast to coast with apes more than once a year. They never say they have a problem. I want to find someone with a vision with apes.

Ape hangers is a very subjective term. I have 15" inch mini apes on my HD. Most people I know would say that bars have to be 24 or more inches to be ape hangers. That's also my personal opinion. That being said I've seen bars that turn up a foot or less called apes so I guess it's a matter of opinion.

not smart idea. With 800 pounds under you and your arms up above your strong point makes for dumping time.

looks good RC - wish we were closer so I could give them a try. That's about where I would want them to be and using the existing cables is a definite plus. I'll PM you later in the week and maybe can have some dialog. Thank, looks good.

Those are mini apes. If you're comfortable with them, then go for it.

It's a matter of personal taste and what people are comfortable with. I ride with people that have full apes on a HD FL front end and a car tire out back. Looks silly to me but then they think the Visions are butt ugly. To each their own.

Alohaboy on this site has some 16" on his 2012 Ness Vision. You might PM for his thoughts.

Ness also has come out with some adjustable bars, not sure I would call them apes. http://shop.arlenness.com/s-51-handlebars.aspx

Considering that I'm 5'8 anything at or above 18" is an ape to me. And I don't know why a car tire comment has to come into this discussion. Thank to the folks who has provided feedback I was looking for...

Varyder I think the point is run whatever makes you happy. I know plenty of people that think the Vision is way out there but I like it and I ride it. If you want apes then mount them. I have minis on my HD and it rides fine.

Absolutely. Since most don't understand what am asking for I should realize off the wall comments will be made. Rest assure I ride what I ride and could care less what anyone else thinks.

I'll tell you exactly why a car tire came into this discussion.. because if it wasnt you looking for apes you would be telling somebody that would be unsafe.... lol. Hell the state I live in even had a law against ape hangers... (not a ct)...

Im just busting your balls. See what its like being on the other side of the fence...

search the forum and show me where I have ever said that a car tire is unsafe on a motorcycle.  people are unsafe, but a thick rubber balloon on a wheel is just that.  But please, spend some time and find where I said "A care tire is unsafe".

But, I have said that people who put car tires on motorcycles are cheap and lazy, but I digress.
