I stopped in to the Demo Ride Truck event at a local dealer the other day and took a look at the new Vision. There are 2 things I noticed.
1-The saddle bags open about 2" less on the 2010 and later when they switched to the cable rather than the shock cyclinder.
2-The seat is cut lower meaning closer to the ground but also less leg room to the floor boards.

I know other things are changed as well and I believe most have been talked about. I could see these changes since they had a few Visions parked next to each other and they were different years.

I love my 2011 Silver/black Vision..I changed the seat on my bike from stock to the 8-ball seat which is 1" lower...Sat on a 2012 at dealer last week and seat is the same as other years both in height and cut....unless you sat on a special model???

According to the dealer, 08,09 are the same. In 2010 The seat got lower and the back support taller. This is what I saw and the bikes were side by side.

handyhiker...Not trying to make any issues with your findings....but tell the dealer you were at to check the spec sheets on the seat height from 2008--2012 models on the Vision...They are the same at 26.5"..I have a short inseam and this was an issue for me on the Vision until I switched the seat...

What I don't understand is why they abandoned the HID headlight for the 2012 Vision?

I put a PIAA HID light into the halogen driving light spot on mine and it kicks but over the HS1 bulb that was there. Saved me $300 too.

No worries, this is just another example of the dealers really not knowing the product. Since these bikes were used, I would guess that the 2010 had a different seat than stock. The dealer said it was one of the changes on the newer bikes.

Maybe it is just me, but the 2011 seat seems much firmer than the 2008 seat.

Actually I've got a newer seat on mine and when I sat on the 2011 I noticed I was sitting higher.  After checking out the seat with a hand press it was noticeably firmer... I think they may have done that to keep the softer foam from allowing the vinyl from streching too much and tearing as have the older models were prone to do....JMHO...

it is.... my girlfriend hates her part of the seat on my 2011. on the 2008 she had no problem. the only thing i told her was to give it a chance as the 2011 needs broken in.. but i may also get her one of these after i read about it. http://canyonchasers.net/reviews/accessories/skwoosh.php

thats when they started it.. (2011) my 08 if i had all the lights on like HID and high beams and i was at idle you could see the voltage drop a tiny bit as well as see the radio lights and what not slightly dim.. not a big issue, but i noticed on my 2011 this is Not a issue at all no matter what i have turned on..

Arkainzeye, try looking at a Pro Pad for the misses. It is basically the same thing and about half the price. I recently bought one to try on mine. The meduim pad fits the passenger seat.

Is there anyway to get the alternator fixed on the 2008 model.  I have to artificially keep the RPMS up at idle, else the battery will drain when I have a lot of accessories on at stop lights.

I test drove a 2013 and noticed the difference in charging at the stoplights.  I didn't know if this was a one off or not.  I guess Victory fixed the charging issue in the newer models.

Am I just 'odd' because I don't consider "Seeing the name of the song on the radio" as something that is NOT AN IMPROVEMENT ???

I thought I was crazy feeling the difference between my 2008 and 2013. The 2013 seat is stiffer. Thanks for this thread.

Standard abs, better radio reception with a better display and also displays the name of the song on the fm when its playing! The alternator also gives full charge at idle now! Then there is the redesigned/improved transmission and doubled the oil change interval.

Most of the radio issues (updated display and information, and possibly even the reception issues ) can be resolved by a visit to your local dealer, and getting hooked up to the Digital Wrench software. The radio software update is free. Some dealers will gig ya for the labor, others won't. If you are having other work done, perfect time to ask for the radio update.

Mine wants 90.00 labor for the update, I'm going to buy the 2010 upgraded radio for 175.00 exchange.

Just a thought about the perceived difference in seat height. Could it be that the rear air shock was set at a lower pressure, thus making the seat lower OR the reverse on the seat being higher?
