Okay - I feel like I have a collector's item already, but the value of my bike is just about to go up. Victory has called the Cross Country Tour "The Ultimate Touring Machine". Okay, so what do they think of the Vision now? Is that someone writting on the wall....

The ONLY and I mean ONLY thing the Cross has over the Vision is the larger storage space. I own a Vision, have ridden a Cross and there is no way the Cross is a smoother, beter ride than the Vision.
In my book the Vision will always be #1 and the Cross #2 But I want you guys to buy the Cross bike so not every Tom Dick and Harry will have a bike as special as mine LOL

I have to admit I like the removable bags and trunk on the CCT. Makes for easier cleaning of the rear end and checking tire...But having ridden both I will stick with my Vision...It is like no other bike out there and I love mine.......Thanks

Right On Brother!... I totally agree!... In the beginning I wanted the new Cross Country when if first came out but could never get one due to the demand... however the dealership was able to get a 2009 Vision Tour Premium... I didn't like the looks at first, however the looks started growing on me..then, after I took a test ride I was completely sold on the Vision! I had to have it; its the best handling touring bike out there! I test rode a Cross Country 2010 and although it has a nice ride.. the Vision is better!..

I like to stir this conversation up occassionally because I have not doubt in my mind I've got the best bike on the planet.  As I tranverse life I realize more and more folks are more worried over image than anything else.  It seems image sells faster than anything, and while the Cross Bikes, including the CCT is a cut above the competition, it is no Vision, period.  I rode a CC when it first came out and I said, "So."  I test road a Harley last year and I asked, "Really, this is what people want?"  I knew right then that image is what sold.  The sales folks were more set on "customizing" it for you, and all I heard was $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, reallizing the Vision was customized for me at the factory, and that for the price any Victory is a far better value.

Yep, the Vision keeps exceeding my expectations and the one I'm riding now will go into my musuem when either it or I can no longer get down the highway.

Not that it matters overall, I'm more curious than anything of what is being said about the Vision in corporate meetings. The fact that the CCT is the higher priced of the touring realm doesn't bother me as much as seeing it with the tag line of "ultimate touring bike", of course it is only touting the storage size. Is Victory feeling the market to see what to continue investment in? Yeah, I know, they spent millions on R&D for the Vision and it has paid off. The Cross bikes use basically the same platform as the Vision, so nothing would be lost. With the price being lower than the CCT I'm sure folks will feel they would be missing something by making the purchase over the CCT. I don't see the demise of the Vision anytime soon, but I do see Victory using the CCT as their ultimate flagship here on out.

I have been a motorcycle enthusiast since I first got my license in the early eighties. During the years past I was getting so bored with the same bikes over and over again. Manufacturers changing bits of plastic on the same old frames. I loved the concept bikes being showed but nothing ever materialized. Bike owners seem to be quite stubborn to change. I love the style, shape, and fit of my Vision. I think all of the OEM's build cruisers and touring cruisers because deep down EVERYONE wants a Harley and all the OEM's WANT their bikes to look like a Harley. The Harley is THE KING of bikes, so why not manufacture knock offs. The Victory Vision , Honda Goldwing and the BMW tourers will never follow the "I wish I was a Harley" thinking and that's why those are my favorite bikes.

I thought the same thing when I found this in my email.

X bikes complain more about this and that then the vision owners. I have a friend that test road one in Az for 5 days and had it shipped home to him and with in two week

sold it cause he just plain didn't like it.

With owning more bikes over the years then most I can honestly say that when I put my head on the pillow I ask the Lord if I can ride the vision one more

no make then ten thousand more times.

I love looking at each and every vision I see and can't wait to ride mine.

Based on logic and reason I think the Cross Country Tour would be a great bike to buy for touring.

Someday when I grow up I might use logic and reason when I buy a bike.

We all know the emphasis will be on the cross bikes, as they emulate the look of a Harley, America's Sweetheart Bike. That's just good business, as the biggest mrekt is the HD look a like. The Vision had 4 years (8,9,10,11) to make it's mark and the mainstream biker just didn't bite. They want a road ornament, an outdated icon, they want to be like everyone else. Even Sonny Barger can't change that in 4 years!

Makes me think of the original honda Valkyrie. Never understood why they stopped making it.

Among the many tradeoffs that buyers of a "The Ultimate Touring Machine" have to make for all that much ballyhooed "additional" carrying capacity is ........ wait for it.......LESS CARRYING CAPACITY.

Vision Tour GVWR 1414lbs - CC Tour GVW 1360lbs.

Exactly 54 lbs less carrying capacity disguised as an additional 12 "gallons" of storage space. Now that, my friends is MARKETING!

Aw Hell, I just broke my new year resolution. I wasn't going to be sarcastic this year.

Well, I guess it works out; the Vision is for fat-old geezers that know how to pack and the CCT is for skinny-slim yuppie biker want-a-bees that don't know how to pack. Truth is not sarcasm...

Funny.... for all the long trips I have done on my Vision, I never once thought during the ride..... "I wish I had more storage space"...

I relish in the fact I got my Vision before Sonny got his.  I don't think simply because he rides a Vision, all the rest would sheepishly follow, no way.  It is well known also the Sonny never really cared for HD and regrets making that a "requirement" for the 81.  Sonny rides the Vision simply for the same reason the rest of us do, for the comfort and the ride.  I'm not sure if he still does, but he used to put on as many miles in a year that took four years for me to do.  As far as the looks, I'm not sure how he feels.  And Sonny has had an influence for the brand and for the Vision. In the summer of 2011 edition of the Victory magazine it says that 3 of the main guys of HA bought a Vision, and I believe there is at least a few others also.  Sonny's appearence on SOA may also have something to do with the fact the show will feature Victorys, I don't know what model, and it could be a rumor, but that's what I heard.

I just want to know what corporate thinks of the Vision...can anyone turn themselves into a fly?

Ok - I will give them the "The Ultimate Touring Machine" title... After all the Vision was titled ""The Ultimate Luxury Touring motorcycle" at one time.

LOL - simply play on marketing words.

I have ridden the XC and XCT... I still like my Vision so much better!

it seems odd, but I actually feel a bit cramped on the XCT. I've had my Vision two years and only just now feelt I'm sarting to make her mine.
