I found this sketch at the Goldwing riders forum. Don't even ask how I got there.
The Goldwinnie boys didn't know what to make of it. Some liked it while most knocked it.
I don't know anything about it, thought maybe some of you guy's would know something about it.

It's one of the original concept drawings from 2006-07 timeframe.

It was in a survey by a research company about touring bikes that I filled out last night. Interesting fact was it said Japanese made motorcycle and some very cutting edge accessory/options were involved. Cruise Control that maintained safe following distance, traction control, were a couple that come to mind.

That was one of many pictures on the wall during the 10th Anniversary Vision owners meeting in Daytona almost 3 years ago. You have to understand GW owners are "OLD" people with every DQ locations loaded into the GPS. :p Plus the trunk is the correct size for a box of Depends. O.o

For 2013 I think Victory will follow the lead of the other successful touring giants and make evolutionary changes rather than revolutionary changes. I personally would like less mechanical noise from the engine and better fitting body panels. I would also like to see some improvement in the mirror function with maybe a slight rethink of the faring shape but make sure it is evolution looking and not radically revolutionary cause Visions farings have character, women like character. :-)

Since Polaris now owns electric vehicle technology (Global Electric and Goupil Industrie), a revolutionary powerplant is within reach. It might not be suited to a touring bike, but certainly could be viable in an around-town cruiser. Torque of electric motors is insane and instantaneous!

Electric powered vehicle. Many years ago Leo Laporte had an electric car on the Screensavers. It had 1000 Lithium Ion batteries from cell phones in it, It took off like a bat out of hell. If they can come up with battery powered scooters and small M/Cs I think they would sell in city areas. The downside is the price of electricity keeps rising and now they plan to close several coal burning plants. I guess Warren Buffet read the writing on the wall months ago when he bought a boat load of energy stocks.
When gas prices jumped a few years ago my local dealer sold several Polaris electric scooters. Can we call them scooters? Wheels on a skateboard with a steering handle.

My dealer all ready has a electric bike. It looks like a dirt bike and it came from Italy I believe. You just know there coming sooner then we think.
Think of this patten every sound you can think of. Why cause the government will make any electric car or bike make some kinda noise. If they didn't blind people would not know your there or some one not paying attention would be run over in a cross walk.
So if you owned the right sound maybe you could make some money.

The 2013 Vision is going to look almost the same with bigger bags, a quick disconnect trunk and a 114" engine.

For future Victory Visions I would also like to see just evolutionary changes. Look at how the Goldwing and Electra Glides have just kept improving on 30 and 40 year old designs. Year after year keep improving the quality of fit and finish and functionality of the bike.

I've heard this rumor too. If there is no extertior redesign, I would believe this to be true.

I would think this would be a good direction to go. Although I don't think a 114 is necessary. Our powerplant is more than enough to tour two-up, and a bigger engine would just make fuel mileage worse. But I did hear the forum rumors of redesigning the saddlebags/hinges to give them a little room and making the trunk more along the lines of the Cross Country disconnect.

The differanceib MPG would be little to none and there's no such thing as too much power, IMO...

I can say for myself that I am not looking to win any races with a touring bike. Matter of fact the best thing is that they are in a category different from the sport bikes that have gain the attention of every law enforcement agency in this country because of how they ride. Now as far as looks I like the look of the current vision tour but, I refuse to buy a touring bike with small storage saddle bags. Secondly I have to agree that I like to get the gas mileage because I am touring. I make the same considerations when traveling with the family in a vehicle. Give me things that make my touring functional and dazzle me at the same time if you can is how I often think of it. A little more range on the windshield would be nice and don't forget the quick release on the trunk, plus keep the price the same the first year and watch the sales soar. Just my opinion.

More than likely it's because Harley offers a 110ci in their electra glides and ultra classics. Victory offering a 114ci although only slightly smaller would give it an edge on the sales floor. "This ones cheaper and has a bigger engine" to draw over the harley owners.

I for one, would be very interested in a Vision with better storage. It would be unbeatable with a X-bike front end (inverted fork, etc...). The bigger engine would be interesting, but based on my test ride, the bike really does not need it. Of course, you can never have too much horsepower or torque!
