Greetings,

Been having trouble with mine lately too. Finally the light just stayed on constantly and true to form I am able to lock up the back wheel(don't ask how I know that Anyway my local dealer Rollin Fast went the extra mile for me trying to figure out what was wrong before a big trip I was planning. Switching out parts, calling Victory, etc.... and in the end they determined it was the ABS module itself. So now I am waiting for a new ABS module from Victory. Dealer says not till 11/4 or so. Oh well at least I can still ride. Please keep us posted on what your issue ends up being and the resolution. I will post an update once the new ABS module is in and hopefully others can benefit as well

Cheers!

I have the same problem.

Went to the dealership today for an oil change and to check out the ABS.

They hooked my bike up to a computer and this is what they found.

Fault C1031-ABS front wheel speed sensor signal failure
Fault C1032-ABS actuator (front) wheel lock or vehicle speed sensor (VSS) failure.
Fault C1038-ABS source voltage low

They called it into Victory's site and supposedly I'm covered under warranty for future repair/replacement costs
The mechanic also cleaned everything in and around the ABS pick-up area.
I'll keep everyone informed of any future problems.

I'm now having the same issue with my ABS light coming on too. Sometimes it will stay on all day, the next morning, it's fine. Seems to act up more in colder temps....

I'm told that there should be a 50/1000 gap at the sensor. If that clearance changes, either from settling or getting dislodged, it will make it act flaky. I haven't checked mine yet. I hear it's more likely to occur at the front sensor...

Well, my ABS had been flaky, sometimes on, sometimes off. It started working again for a couple days, but as of Saturday, the light is on full time now. Has anyone had resolution to this? I plan to take my bike in to the dealer this afternoon and hook it up to the Digital Wrench to pull any fault codes...

In your manual there is a phone number for the national hwy safety. There is so many with ABS lights coming on you should call and force Vic to do a recall. Think you could save some ones life by doing this.

I changed the air gap, no difference. There were multiple error codes in the digital wrench software. All of them included a reference to the actual module itself. my dealer is going to call victory tomorrow to get their take on it. It's still under warranty, so I'm not worried about that. Just curious if anyone else has actually resolved this issue yet????

So, no one has found a resolution to the ABS {intermittent} malfunction problem?

I'm starting to see a correlation between the ABS light and some weird anomalies with my GPS and Victory radio. Sometimes, the GPS will start overriding the audio, cutting it out every few seconds at the same time the ABS light comes on. It almost makes me think I have some minor voltage spikes or dips that could be affecting more than just an overly sensitive ABS module. Maybe replacing the rectifier could help?

Ideas?

what does the dealer say?

Dealer needs the bike to go through whatever the book says the maintenance/troubleshooting procedures are. So basically, I need to be willing to give up the bike for an indefinite period of time. Ideally, I'd like to swap out the rectifier/regulator and see what that yields. I'm convinced that mine is on the high side of the acceptable range, approaching 15volts at anything above idle, and the ABS module may be overly sensitive to high voltage. What is 'normal' for these bikes?

I'm not an expert in ABS, but I don't see the voltage rending a fault, it sounds normal. It would seem to be more of a module. Swapping out components dont hurt, but I would also retrace all of the connectors, put dielectric grease on them.

Just a word, if when you take it to the dealer, suggest that they clear out the fault codes first and rerun the bike for the fault to show. In my experience with the fuel pump, my dealer read the existing codes and replaced things according to fault showing and the bike still had the problem. It wasn't until they cleared the faults, with all of my original stuff did they find those where ghost faults and none actually existed, so they told me. Then they suspected the fuel pump which is checked by a manual pressure test, but not until they charged me 3 hours of troubleshooting time.

We've already cleared faults once, a few weeks ago... while some of them pointed to sensors, almost every one included a reference to a faulty ABS module. My reservation though is that replacing the ABS module appears to be a lot of work. It appears that the entire left rear side of the bike would have to be disassembled just to get to it, then there are multiple hydraulic lines that need to be removed and replaced, electrical connections, limited space.... potential for fluid all over the place... then bleed the entire system including the ABS side and brake sides..... just so much work.... with no guarantee that's the issue.

It's been a few months now since my ABS light came on and stayed on.
The one "code" that showed up was "Fault C1038-ABS source voltage low" which would be the opposite of Turk's high voltage problem.

The other 2 codes that showed up were;
Fault C1031-ABS front wheel speed sensor signal failure
Fault C1032-ABS actuator (front) wheel lock or vehicle speed sensor (VSS) failure.

When it was faulting all the time, I could sometimes clear it by shutting down the bike, waiting a minute, then restarting. (Kind of like a reboot)

hmmm, despite the effort, the ABS module has to be totally eliminated, by replacing it. I understand your reservations in giving up your bike for such a lengthy time, but if it is covered under warranty, then I would just do it. I would also try to push the dealer a little to make it a priority. That's just me.

Personally, ABS proves to be another uneeded aggrevation, but eventually I'll get stuck with it when I get a new Vision, unless they keep it off the 8-Ball in the years ahead.

My bike is in the shop right now. Spoke to the dealer today and he is replacing the ABS module. He said its going to be a day or two more before its done. My dealer has tried all of the above fixes as well. In the end after multiple calls to Victory etc.... they are replacing the ABS module. So as soon as he is done I will post the results.

Just to express my ignorance here, replacing the ABS module calls most of the left side of the bike bleeding the brakes etc....? Holy crow! And here I thought it was a simple plug and play electronic device. Guess this is why I don't work on Vics for a living. I'd be broke
