29 Palms California | Ordinances schmordinances. i had a cop pull my group over in Laguna Beach. he was a dip chip. i have a stage one, and i was breaking the law, one of the other riders had hd factory pipes, and he was breaking the law. it depends on how they use the detector, and if the cop knows what he's doing. 29 Palms California | i was fortunate. there was 7 of us, and all our bikes were out of regs. with his little weird decibal checker. he gave us a stern warning. there were protesters (liberals protesting the war) on the corner making his little meter twitch, and i asked him if he could point his gizmo at them. he declined, we drove away...as quietly as we could. He was hired to harass bikers, and bikers have complained to the village. i guess his being there worked, because we avoided that stretch of road when possible. ruined a good ride. we would go from camp pendleton, to cooks corner, then out to the coast, the back to base via pacific coast hwy. yes, he was a jerk. |

So Cal | We had the same problem on angeles crest. The waitress at Newcome's ranch said the CHP assigned to that stretch didnt want to be there. So he started stopping everyone for every little thing and people stopped riding that road. Needless to say business dropped off dramaticly for the locals. The locals complained and he was transfered. Small towns outside the big city, the local law enforcement, thats the only way to generate revenue is from outoftowners. All those 25 MPH zones arent for saftey theyre for local revenue. |
