Columbia, SC | A mere 45 days after I purchase my victory vision with the number ONE reason I chose it being, "It has a trunk and the cross country doesn't." Sigh. Guess that's the risk you take any time you purchase a bike. The risk that something a little better might be out the next year....
Not complaining. Still got a great deal on the vision (probably better than I would have a 2011 CC as the vision was a leftover 09). But I DO love the cross country. One thing less to hold back buyers!!!
And it's ABOUT TIME victory! How can someone go "cross country" without tons of storage? lol.

If I'm not mistaken, the CC and CR had available add on/removable trunks when the '11 model year bikes were announced back around the end of July last summer. Where were you bike shopping that you missed this? Granted they may not have arrived at the dealers yet for a few more weeks but it's been well known they were coming for over five months. Just askin'??? |

| The one I rode at AVR 2010 last August had a trunk on it. |

Columbia, SC | I looked at them online and when "custom building" a bike online a trunk was not available as an accessory. (Still isn't as of yesterday). So I figured they didn't have one. And there are really only two Victory dealers "nearby". One deals primary in Polaris ATVs and watercraft and has TWO motorcycles in the shop, the other had a few victories, but nothing with a trunk. So I was just unaware. Uninformed consumer makes uninformed decision. I may have ended up with the vision anyway, as I like the electric windshield, heated seats, and it was a leftover 09 which meant a better deal, but I do kinda wish I had known as I REALLY like the way the cross country looks. Really, it's the saddlebags and that cool crash bar that make me like it so much. But that's alright. I'll just learn to ride the hell outta my vision and work on being "that guy" who can outride others while riding "that victory vision".

Indianapolis, IN | No problem, I think everybody makes a buy occasionally and then finds the deal they really wanted after the fact. I think you will be more than happy with the Vision. Just learn to travel a little lighter and enjoy the better aerodynamics that come with the Vision. I have read a number of comments on the forum from people that are used to the Vision and when they have test rode the CC were displeased with the lack of wind protection and the additional handle bar buffeting from the fork mounted fairing on the CC. I think in the long run you made the right choice. Now just enjoy and never second guess again. |

She loves to have changes of outfits when we go somewhere. And I don't blame her. But we'll end up getting a trailer to make that a NON-issue. And the whole fork-mounted vs frame-mounted fairing, I agree. Frame-mounted IMO is the way to go.
As far as trading it in, this thing is only a month old! The hit I'd take on negative equity and whatnot would be WAY too much. But maybe if I'm still liking the CC in a few years I'll do a swap for a used one. By then I'll be so comfortable on the vision it'll be like a second skin. Starting to feel that way right now!!!

| When I looked at the CC last April, they didn't have a trunk for it then. But even so, my wife felt more comfortable on the Vision. It wasn't just the trunk as the back rest, she felt like her legs were more comfortable. So while I like riding the CC more, I'm still glad I bought the Vision. Plus now that we are doing LD rallies, the Vision is much more suited for that. |

So NOW they decide to come out with the trunk for the Cross Country.
