| Hey All In preparation for our trip I am going to try running Octane Booster with regular unleaded. Just wondering, for those who use Octane booster what ratio do you use? I have read 5:1.... Thanks |

| All it says is to add the entire contents to the gas tank... I am think that this is direction for a car gas tank...

| Be wary of over the counter octane booster. Most of it is practically worthless. The ones that say they yield an 8 point boost in octane... well, if you read the fine print, that means 8 DECIMAL points! So, 92 octane would be 92.8 octane. Find a good quality race blend that actually has a mixing chart, such as Torco Accelerator. This stuff really works. It tells you starting octane, how many ounces per gallon to mix, and the resultant octane. I believe Sunoco also makes a good octane booster. |

| Octane Booster Snake oil. Wrap cow magnets around your gas tank and get the same results,
If it worked every gas station in town would sell it and there would be adds on TV.
Take your trip and use 91 octane or better and all will be fine. Before you go on your trip do a search on the net for gas stations that sell gas with out ethanol |

| Thanks for the advice John... The reality is that I have always used 91 or better, but, since some of the country that we are riding through will be lucky to have any gas at all let alone high octane stuff I am thinking that I may have bigger issues... It iwll be what it is... if I have to use reg unleaded then there will be nothing that I can do about except try and make the best. I am thinking that adding the octane boost will make me feel better and will not hurt the motorcycle.

| If you have to buy regular fine next town cold have 91 stop and top off. If your in the mountain don't lug the motor going up hill
Like the other rider said octane booster will only bring your gas up by tenths.
If you stop and think your not the first guy going on a tip and I have never heired of guys having problems with gas. I have ridden a lot and had to stop in a town that was a one store town and get gas. Just don't beat on the bike and you'll do just fine.
Think more about a good rain suite and camera you'll be good |
