Anyone tried using some header wrap on the exhaust pipe on the right side under the cover so it would not be seen? If the heat is coming from there than that would solve the problem.

I called Ness in Vegas to ask about the Thundercone exhaust and talked to the parts mgr. Carlos. He is the guy on the YOUTUBE video of the Thundercone exhaust. He said they have been wrapping the header pipes under the heat shields and it helps with heat. They also said adding they had torque cones made for the Vision and using them and the Thundercone exhaust and a power comander they were getting 110 lb ft nearly off idle. Any way he said the wrap helps in Vegas.

The only bad thing about the heat wrap is that in time your pipes will become brittle. ET

Try Ebay. I got a 50' roll for under $20, shipped.

I put it on the crossover pipe to to reduce heat radiation onto the rubber belt after shutdown. Heat is the the enemy of all things flexible so if it only helps a little I'm ahead. And the crossover pipe isn't quite as hot as the main header outlets. But it seemed plenty hot enough to prematurely age the belt that sits right above it. In aircraft, that's how we age test parts - heat 'em, cool 'em, repeat many times. Kind of like motorcycle temperature cycles.

Ive been using the pipe wrap for years on the racecar. One word of caution also, it doesnt like moisture. So if you ride in the rain and it gets more than a little wet, Junk it ! it will turn really brittle , wont do what it was meant for and do nasty things to your pipes.

I have a skin graph on the right lower side of my inner leg (calf region), due to no feeling I've blister my graph site (at least 2nd degree burns) & took at least a month to heal each time.

I too was looking for a enconomic solution but most important effective one

I found one, its by Just in Proucts & its called Hot Leg Protector, intended for Harleys, its very stylish but it works & I wrap it outside my pants around my calf & haven't had a problem since & won't ride without it when riding my Vision

FRED

PS- perfect when using rain gear like Frogg Toggs ( prevents meltdown)

Website is justinproducts.net

hope this helps
