| For a ride on the vision today. My sisters three girls have an interest in riding/passengering on their dads bike but he's still getting use to riding again so my sister asked if I'd do the honors of teaching the girls how to be passengers and take them out so they could get a feel for riding.
Broke out a bunch of spare helmets laying around the house and headed off to fit them with an appropriate lid, got them all suited up and then gave them the big brief; "act like you are a sack of potato's." Look around, take in the sights but just sit there, no need to lean up or down just sit and enjoy.
Well they did very well. As we left their home I told each that was going to swerve so they could feel what it was like. We then proceeded out onto the main roads, through some twisty stuff and onto some faster paced roads where I could accelerate hard. I late apex-ed a couple curves so I could really exaggerate the lean. They did really well.
When I had the youngest on board a herd of some 8 deer crossed the road in front of us (pretty close) which she really enjoyed. They were so close and your so exposed on the bike that I imagine it was quite thrilling for her. Needless to say they loved riding and can't wait to do it again. Who knows might be the next generation of riders and they got their start on the new generation motorcycle  |

Ruskin, Fl | That's cool. My sister was down with her crew a few months ago. After they all went for a short ride that's all they wanted to do. Now the keep asking mom when they can come back. Good times. |

Brighton, TN | Very cool, I like taking my kids for a ride, they LUV it. Cept my oldest one, he's 18, and think he is riding in the bit## seat. I have tried to inform him, riding with your dad is not really like riding with a guy your own age, furthermore, if it's the only ride anyway, WHO GIVES A *#%t. Can't change his mind he knows everything.
My Nephew, who is also 18, he loves it. We went for a 30 minute ride and he wanted to keep going. He don't care who sees him. he's smilin ear to ear, just like me. |

How old were they teach?
My 11 year old step daughter loves getting rides on my bike...I teased her the other day that the season is soon going to be here but I haven't heard any riding requests from her...next day I got a hand delivered letter asking for one ASAP.
Then my 22 year old daughter loves it when she can get on back for a ride (when she is in town). Last fall...country roads...leaves turning color...blue sky...she loved it. But I do have the intercom system and we wear our helmets every time we go out...so it's yack, yack....quiet, quiet...yack yack...quiet, quiet…etc. So I figured out the quiet times when I looked in my mirrors and saw her looking out at the scenery just grinning.
Daughters & Dad's....a unique relationship that goes beyond understanding! |

| Ages are 10, 13 and 15. Good kids.... My son and I took a summer trip to Jeffersons, Madison plantation, and a few of the battlefields like Gettysburg a fewyears back (before he got too big). It is a nice thing getting out with the kids. My daughter has never been on any of my street bikes, but both her and my son rode and raced motoX from 5 years of age up to 16. Both are very skilled riders in their own right. I do love the anticipation and excitement on the kids faces after riding. |

guelph ontario | Up here there has been some discussion about restricting the age of passengers on bikes to 14 yrs old. Not passed yet but who knows what the future will bring. |

| Probie, well I don't generally like putting kids on my bike but I figured around the block would be alright. I'd never tell anyone not to but its not something I like to see. As for passing a law?? Well I always felt it was the parents responsibility to raise their kids and decide what is in the childs best interests. Big brother already interferes too much if you know what I mean. |
