A week ago I hit a pothole so hard I though for sure the front wheel was damaged. Forks bottomed ect. Now when I start the bike cold it idles at 2200 RPM. After a minute or two it will come down to 1500 and about 5 minutes of riding it will finally slow to 1000. It only has to sit (off) for 20 minutes or so and the fast idle thing starts all over. Bike seems to be running ok. The cable operation is smooth. I pulled the wedges and don't see any thing broken or disconnected. I rode 150 miles Saturday and all was fine except fot the idle.

Any ideas before I go to the dealer?

You need to look at the hoses that come from the IAC, and go into the base of the throttle body. Sounds like one might have come loose, or was cracked by the impact. After that I would look to the throttle body adapter itself

Hi, CW you need to read this. I put this up when mine started doing the same thing this year. http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11363&po... . Your throttle body adapter plate sounds to sucking air. It is simple to check it. Get a can of carb cleaner, the cheepest they have at the parts store. Then start the bike cold and spray at the base of the throttle body and if the idle changes, if it does then you know thats it. If not then start spraying at the hoses untill the idle changes. Hope this helps you out. Dain

Thanks. Seems it's the throttle body adapters. Idling at 2100 cold and a shot of carb cleaner at the base slowed it to 1000. Do the seal when hot? After 5 minutes of riding it is normal.
It that something covered under extended warranty?

Finally got bike to the dealer. They are changing the adaptor and both O-rings under the extended warranty. Thanks again Kevin.
