I picked mine up on Saturday. I thought I'll just pop in on before I leave the dealership. Nope. This dumbass design comes with an alcohol wipe and a tube of silicone. Basically you glue it on. Instructions go on to say do not ride for 24 hours. Doesn't say what you are supposed to do it it has to come off for repairs. DUMB.

Thank you, thank you for taking a hit for the team. I thought I'd get one but you answered that question for me. Pretty that interfers with function is like putting lipstick on a pig.

ooops, I forgot about the folk in Tennessee, sorry.

i have that same chrome cover. i was shocked at how plastic and cheap it felt. it has been on for well over a month or more and never came loose yet. it does look good. i wasnt happy that they wanted 24 hours or sit time for it before you can ride again.

I just used the heavy duty 3M weatherstrip tape on top of the master cylinder instead of using the silicone. The cover would peel off for service with either one, but with the tape I got around that 24 hour wait. It does look great though.

My Vision is black. I am thinking about taping the moving parts with blue painters tape and painting the rest krylon glossy black.

What are the pros and con of this action?

+ It'll look pretty good- and easy to repair if chipped/scratched. - It'll take a lot of thinner to remove it if you don't like it. - You'll have trouble getting a great finnish with a spray can. Oops, I think the subject of this thread just went astray...
