Just curious, do you notice any improvement in circulation (tingly butt)? I'm one of those 'boney butt' guys.

it's like dozens of tiny hands massaging my boney butt. I found no issues.

Just returned from my rally - I can testify that these beads are HIGHLY recommended! 1400 miles in total - the return trip alone was 500 miles in 10 hours, with only three stops for fuel and food, in 90+ temps. No need for Monkey Butt powder, no sweaty thighs or heat rash, as the Cap'n said - dozens of tiny hands massaging as you ride... I was very impressed with the difference in comfort level at the end of my trip (cooler and drier). My purchase was the ceramic composite 15x15 UBR (front only) from www.beadrider.com, a tad expensive, but worth it to me.

I think I'll keep my two-tone light wood color, absorbs less heat when I'm not sitting on it. Sorry, what was that, function over form, yeah, I think that's what I said.

Love the AC, but is it just me, or does anybody else with the beads feel as if they had just made the mistake of spraying their seat with armor-all when they apply the brakes?

I've not felt that concern at all with the beads. It might, however, be giving me a slight hint of back pain, but I've not been on a very long trip to find out. The leather seat is still the preferred choice, but it'll be a while, the beads is an affordable solution to a most aggrevating problem, monkey butt.

Yes, I do notice the increased slipperyness of the seating area not only when applying the brake but also when mounting and dismounting my steed...
I would not want to play the "Honey, I'm Home" bike game with the beads in place - as I would most likely slide off during my hurried mounting and exit.

However, I did enjoy having the beads during the 5 hour ride (w/only one stop for food/gas) down to the ROT Rally in near 100deg temps over the weekend. My pants and underwear were DRY at the end of the trip - in previous years, it looked like I'd pee'd myself upon arrival...

Also, I noted that I no longer need to raise my body up out of the seat into a standing position whenever possible (red light, stop sign, stop and go interstate traffic) during long rides. My butt arrives refreshed...

I still plan to eventually purchase the Russel Day Long Saddle, however. I like the its look, and am already taking some ribbing about the ugliness of the beads...

As I said before, "Beauty is in the eyes of the butt holder..." the day I worry about what other people think about my ride is the day I stop riding.

It's the darkside of seat comfort. You can spend hundreds of dollars for the "standard" fixes for coolness and comfort for seats, or 12 bucks at Wal-Mart. So you might say, my butt is running the darkside....

Sorry I missed you at ROT. I only went on Friday during the day. I was on my Vision with my beads on the seat. Regardless of the beads and the lower wind deflectors....it was hot. Like South Texas hot riding home from ROT!

Riding with the beads on the seat at any temp is much better then riding without them. I was in an air conditioned car the other day and got out and mounted the Vision for the ride home. My butt felt cooler and dry when I got down the road then it did in the car.

Hey, RT Paul,

Are you gonna do a write up of your adventures at ROT?

Magic,

What happens at ROT stays at ROT.

All in all I had a great time. I bought a few things and got to spend some time riding and doing something other than work.

Naplam had some Victory's to see.

At 140 miles round trip this was my longest ride this year. I am ride deprived....but the heat is brutal this year. Looks like we are going to break the record of 64+ days over 100 degrees.

Lots of vendors and people to watch. One cute young lady was walking around with a very colorful blouse on....oh wait that is just paint from an airbrush. That was all during the day. I left before night fall.

I hear at night a completely different group of excitable creatures come out to play.

I did see some 12 inch Brown Chippewa Ostrich snip toe riding boots that will be mine soon..... Oh yes they will be mine......
