| Okay guys, who out there might be able t answer this question; can the transmission components from a 2011 Freedom engine be installed into a 2008 Freedom engine? I know that my dealer was able to convert a 5 speed transmission to a 6 speed, so I am wondering how hard it might be to swap the entire transmission and gain the new helical cut gears in 4th and 6th and get the new neutral finder function. |

Northeast Ohio | I have asked myself this same question too, but think only time will tell. I would love to assume the transmission case is the same in 2011 as 2008-2010. Probably going to have to wait until someone gets their hands in one or the parts schematics become available to know.
Maybe one of the AVR VR folks could ask Vic while they are up there. |

Pittsburgh, PA | Even if so would the cost be worth it? Unless your transmission already failed??? I'm guessing major monies in labor alone. It would better be the most bang for the Buck ever to justify it.. I also wondered if the transmission gear ratios the same? |
