I went to the Las Vegas BikerFest last weekend and had a chance to stop by Arlen Ness of Las Vegas.  They had a couple of Visions with some really nice paint schemes.  They had one black one with a metal flake fire scheme.  They had another black one with a ghost monster/predator theme.

I test rode one of their Visions that had the ThunderSticks pipes, wrapped exhaust, torque cones and PowerCommand on it.  My bike has the Ness Big Honkers.  I did not notice any performance difference between their bike and mine, but on a side-by-side listening comparison, the ThunderSticks have a slightly deeper/lower pitch sound to them over the Big Honkers.  They are both pretty much the same loudness.

Ness of Vegas said that the torque cones address the drop in low end torque caused by the Big Honkers.

To me, wrapping the pipes makes the gas hotter for quicker exhaust and torque cones restrict exhaust flow.  Seems like a wash to me.  Maybe someone can explain why doing a -/+ sums up to more ???

The Victory truck was at the speedway and I had a chance to see a 10th Anniversary Edition in person and test ride a 2009 Hammer with the 106 and stage 2 cams.  It was the first time I rode a fat-tire bike and the 106/stage 2 cam bike made you hang on.  I still like the ride of the Vision in comparison, but the extra power would be nice.  The stage 2 cams are looking good to me.

The only other Visions that I saw at the show were at the vendor booths and at Arlen Ness.  I did see a few other Victories on the streets.

Tim,

I just spoke w/Lloyd and will be ordering his controller and intake. I had my heart set on the Big Honkers with torque cones too, but now with this post of yours, maybe the Thundersticks would work better (I want a low beefy rumble at idol and want my pipes louder than S1/L2's when I get on it, just not obnoxiously loud).

Guess I'll have to wait on the pipes until I can hear them for myself Oct. 16 for Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach. Ness has a dealership at Destination Daytona just north of there.

Do you know off-hand if I can use my Gatlins with the Thundersticks (if I choose to go that route)?

I'm going to have Scott from Conquest Customs install Lloyd's intake and controller, as well as wrap my pipes and install Lloyds header gaskets too. Haven't decided whether or not to 'ceramic coat' the header pipes in an attempt to cure the heat-on-legs issue too (not sure how effective coating actually is though).

I'm so confused.

Drew.

The torque cones may be part of the sound of the exhaust.  The sound between the 2 were pretty close.

The ThunderSticks have their own cone-shaped tips on them that stick out beyond the back of the bike.  I do not believe you can use the gatlin tips on them.  Have you seen the ThunderSticks?

Good luck with your decision.

Just saw them today online here: http://www.arlennesslasvegas.com/viewpic.php?p=img_3052.jpg . At around $2K plus installation, I think I might just have to pass on them and go with the Big Honkers and cones.
