So after almost 6 years of opening & closing, the 'clicky' latch was getting loose. I decided that I'd better replace it before it failed. Replaced the 'clicky' latch and 2 days later the tab on the lid broke off (while I was riding) and the broken piece is long gone.
Now I have to order a new glove box lid and I think I should order another 'clicky' latch in case I installed the 2nd one incorrectly. What say ya'll?

BTW, I'm using a bungy cord to keep the glove box lid closed. Really nice 'red neck' lookin' rig LOL.

Why not use a rare-earth magnet and a simple metal plate on the clicker thingy. Glue the magnet to the lid and the plate to the body or switch it up by doing the opposite. The magnet should keep the lid down without a problem and it would be quicker to open when you need it. Just a thought.

Why not use a magnet?
Because you can't lock your glove box anymore.

When you lock your forks, you also lock the glove box and the fuel filler door.

Both arms must have broken off to preclude locking the box. The box has two arms, the one for the locking pin is closest to the rider and doesn't go into the clicker/thingy. The arm that goes there is not part of the locking pin from the ignition key, it only goes into the plastic latch. A magnet there would work just fine.
