Ok, so I got HMD520's 2/3" slam package on ebay for $200 to the house. About $625 package on their website. I installed everything except the 1" lowering kit for the front end. Set it up for the 2" drop, installed the link, kickstand, skid plate and saddle bag inners. Turned out to be a decent little undertaking. Not sure if I can figure out how to post a couple of pics but I will try. Need to ride a little more to see if I think it was worth the effort, better footing was needed but hopefully not at the cost of the comfy ride. It recommends 60-65 psi with passenger. If we don't like it I will just put the original link back on and get a tall pair of boots or something :P. I will let you guys know how it goes.

How much does it lower it? I love my Ness which is lowered from the Factory. A normal Vision is too tall for me. Handling wise, the Ness is still the best handling bike I've ever ridden - but I've not spent much time on a stock height Vision to compare.

think you went overboard sorry to say. I pulled my rear wheel put in a 2 inch lowering link and that's it.
Be for I found I needed 40 pounds of air in shock I cracked the inside of my bags. I used black silicone to fix crack. No water leak now.
I lowered the front end and that stopped the wind buffeting when behind semis. You should do it very simple.
Don't for get to adjust the headlight

This lowered it 2" from stock jdr, which I think puts it at the seat height of your Ness. The link I got can go to 3" but currently just trying 2". You're probably right johnnyv, just figured since that was a pretty decent deal on the kit I would go that way but it was a lot of work. Along with the kit was front end lowering hardware too, I wasnt planning on using it right now but you say it helps with the wind buffet? I didnt know it would do that, more likely to install it now.

Haven't got into yet but it looks like you add spacers to raise the handlebars a bit so that you can loosen the triple trees and slide the forks up about 1". Those who have done it can let us know if I am off on that. I'll let you know if I notice anything afterwards.

it really help when you're stuck behind semis.

pull the dash panel. now unbolt handlebars put spacers in place. Bolt bars down.
Then loosen the pinch bolts on the fork tubes. 6mm allen I believe. Now tubes will slide up. you're done.

Lowered to front now, I'll try to attach photo of finished product. Quite a bit more stability at stop lights, moving around in parking lots. Happy enough with the change. Dragged the floorboard for the first time, it was a pretty decent curve though so nothing i am worried about. a little of a pain getting to the top tree clamp bolts but nothing to bad, forks slid easily once things were loosened up.

Nice job, WVHills. Bike looks good sitting at that level. I didn't see if you did the inner bag mods or not, and if you did, exactly how hard was it to do. Just looks from what I've seen on a couple that used the kits, that it was a little time involved, not really that hard. Thanks.

wingit - the bolts and spacers were part of the lowering kit from HMD520. Looks like $69 on their website. The bolts could be picked up at about any hardware store, might need to look a littler more for correct spacers or see what others have used if they didn't buy a kit.

huts - thanks. I did the inner bag mods, again, part of the kit. You have the idea though, not really hard but time consuming. I removed the bags. Just put the piece inside the bag, then trace and cut. I used a dremel type cutter. Johhnyvision said he did not cut the bags and is doing ok, just watch air pressure in shock. I almost always am riding with passenger so I went ahead and done the inserts.

Thanks for the info WVHills. Wow, it still looks like winter where you are. Everything is full plumage in Bama. Flowers, butterflies, already seen lightening bugs even.
