wow, nano, nano, ipod.....and none of this jargon seems to make sense or work correctly. generation 2,3? Dang it! Can't someone get this crap right, and have Victory give us something that is working without questioning. Hard drives in something that you can hold in your hand? Holy Crap! I'll I wanted was some fricken sharks that could shoot lasers from their fricken head!
I'm going with the radio until i can't take it anymore. I haven't seen my bike yet, so I don't the hookups i'll need nor the device that will work.

I've gotten to where I only use the iPod cable to keep the phone charged up. The iTunes stuff is too much of a hassle. The rare time I do want songs, I listen to XM.

It should work, with no problem. Only thing is you cannot use the radio's controls to select your tracks, is all. Just plug it into the headphone jack, turn it on, and when you select "Aux" on your radio, it will be playing.-----Metalguy

Well, went and got an iPod touch. Cool devise, just haven't used it in the Vision yet. Got the hook-up installed, picked up the iPod this evening, and it's snowing and wet here in Central Va. Has anyone used the iPod touch in their ViVi?

I had a lot of problems with my IPod plugged into the bike. It would just stop playing a lot or i would loose any functionality from the dash controls. I read that you need to use a Nano or Shuffle in the manual- i assume it is because they don't actually have a disk drive like the full IPod. Does anyone understand this? I really would like to be able to use my IPod with the bike and not buy a Nano.
Thanks

I think it is all a capitolist plot. However, the way I understand is that it has to do with the vibration, and the harddrive and may have something to do with some other deep techy thing. There have been a few post floating around that gets into the tecnical depths of the problem. Bottom line is that I don't want to spend that kind of money on something that may work or not work when I ride unless the moon and venus is in aligment with orions belt.

Anyway, I got the iPod touch because it doesn't have the harddrive but rather is like the nano, but much cooler. I put a bunch of songs on the 16gig hard drive and it has barely made a dent in the space. So I think I did the right thing in that regard. It also has full WiFi capability so I can connect to the internet where there is a hot spot and check weather, get directions and so on. I can even check email on this thing and still play a bunch of songs. And it fits nicely in the pocket of the glove box.

The input works on many devices, I am using a Zune 80GB and it works great. It doesn't interace with the controls but the input is compatable. Once plugged in set on shuffle I don't really need anything other than volume, on-off and switching input from FM to Aux. All of that works. If you want to use the controls then the iPod Nano is what I hear works the best.

I think any MP3 player works with the standard plug, but the Apple iPod cable allows using the radio control to flip through songs and so on or the iPod family devices. I tested it today and it seems to work okay, just got to figure out what happens when pushing the bottoms. It seemed to have some order to it, but I didn't read the instructions for button assignments.

I notice that my 80 gig hard-drive iPod seems to have the problems only when it is cold out...(read that below 40 degree F.) I fully expect it to have a siezure today, as the high is supposed to be a balmy 32 degrees, and I am riding, dammit!-----Metalguy
