In 1977, I got my first bike, a KS125 enduro, and rode it on the street when I got my driver's license in 1979. In the interim, i rode various dirt bikes also, among them a RM 250, a Yamaha YZ465, and a YZ490. I did ride my Dad's KX400 as well. I had a Suzuki enduro, and rode that on the street off and on until 1990. I sold it, and raised my kids. In 2000, I aquired my 1989 Honda shadow VT1100, and still have it to this day. It had 20,000 miles on it then, and is over 61,000 miles now, and has a 14 degree rake, and 10" extended forks. I was looking for a tourer, as my S.O. enjoys riding with me, and we plan on making more and more trips away from home, so I have narrowed it to the Vision, as it just aced out the Goldwing a few weekends ago.
As for what I do for a living? I work for the Air Force as a metals technology technition, makng and repairing aircraft parts

Well *I* won't mention any dates because it's been some time since I rode a motorcycle.
I will say I bought my first new bike on my 19th. birthday and rode it home in the snow. I got it at Kegal's in Rockford. It was an XLCH and cost $2025. Six years later I bought a new FX from the same dealer and rode it for three years. I haven't had any neat toys SINCE and was lookin at all kinds of toys when I came across the Vision on the net.
I had to have one so I went to a dealer and saw a silver Street machine and took a buncha hi-res. pictures of it. I gave the man a deposit for delivery in June. I have a few hurdles to clear before I pick it up.

So it's been years and years with NO TOYS. I guess this oughta make up for some lost time eh?

No toys for all this time and the first new toy I decide to buy is new Victory Vision. COME ON JUNE.

2003 - 14,000 miles on a 2003 Suzuki Volusia
2004 - 6,000 miles on a 2004 Suzuki Volusia
2005 - 8,000 miles on a 2003 Victory Vegas
2006 - 16,000 miles on a 2006 Victory CNSS Jackpot
2007 - 3,000 miles on the 06 CNSS and 1,200 Miles on a 2008 Vision Tour

04 and 05 were heavy deployment years for me, so I didn't get a chance to ride near as much as I would have liked. This year, I'm dealing with a herniated disk, so riding the Jackpot has caused quite a bit of pain. However, as you can see, the Vision doesn't bother my back a bit. 1,200 miles so far and I'm stuck in classes most the time...

I won't go through all of the bikes, but lets go back 46 years to my first bike I still remember very well!
I'm 60 now, so that puts the year at 1961. In Colorado you could have a bike not to exceed 125 cc at age 14. The summer I was 14 saved all my money and bought an Allstate 125. I'm thinking it was produced by Sears.

Anyone old enough to remember??

I remember the allstate. I remember when you could get anything but a woman through Sears Roebuck Co. High quality stuff too. Kinda like a Whizzer wasnt it?

It was! Other choices of riding buddies was Triumph 250 and BSA with governors, and of course the wimpy buddies had MoPeds-

I still remember it like yesterday, great times, great fun, but no more fun than my Vision at age 60!!!
NEVER GROW OLD!!

My first bicycle was from Sears. Had that thing forever, even repainted it. Finnally donated it to one of those Christmas cahrities. Still looked new. I work with a guy that restored his whizzer (sounds like an add for viagra). It was the center piece of his livingroom. Sure was simpler back then.

1987 I bought a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 with Vetter fairing, radio and handy pockets on either side. So, I guess I started out with a Tour bike. Loved that bike because I could ride. Sold it and thought I would get another. 16 years later here I am.
Obviously, haven't had a lot of bikes, but trying to catch up.
