Monkeyman - 2012-11-20 12:01 PM Even so, once 11B, always 11B. OTOH, I was commo so I guess I wouldn't know.

I'm Airborne, (82nd), but we don't get many 29 degree days.  It's been in the upper 40's F, lower 50's F the past few days and I'm still riding like it's summer, half gloves and just the jacket.  All The Way! Airborne!

I'm only on board with the metric system when I'm drinking a liter of beer.

Hey it ain't the cold that bothers me. It's the sliding around on the ice at temperatures under 30 degrees FARENHEIT or so.
On a bone dry day, riding in the cold ain't a problem if you're dressed for it.

I never understood jumping out of a perfectly good airplane but I tried it since the Army was paying for it. I'm good staying on the ground. Upper 40s/lower 50s is good for thin full finger gloves and a leather jacket. It's 34 now and I'll add a sweatshirt and long john pant but I'll ditch the sweatshirt before I get home.

American military vehicles are metric? I'll name three I know that are not, the HUMMV, M1 series Abrams Main Battle Tank and the M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle........... also Blackhawk UH 60 and many more all SAE. What US made Military Vehicle uses metric, could you name one. Oh yes least I forget the most mass produced and exported US Military vehicle ever made the M113 APC........... SAE!!!

When there's snow on the ground I no longer ride, plus all the salt and sand. I don't mind temp's in the 20 -30 as long as it will warm up during the day. When winter sets in its time for snowmobiles and skis. Yes retired I don't hump combat weight anymore, and so glad for it. Merry Christmas to all.
