Rob41,

You can buy the Garmin 2820 from a 3rd party source for a lot less than what Victory sells it for.  You can buy the Vision mount and harness kit from Victory and install it yourself (or have your dealer do it).  After the mount and harness is installed, you just bolt the 2820 on it.  Amazon.com has the 2820 for $375, not $1,000 like what Victory wants for it.

When I bought my 2008, Victory was selling the rebadged, already discontinued Garmin 27XX version for $1,200.  Go figure.  My dealer was a little upset that I did not pay $1,200 for a discontinued model when I could get the newest model for @ $600.  Shortly after I got mine, he started stocking the $600 2820's in leu of the discontinued 27XXs.

HTH,

Tim

It really isn't that bad, considering the gps was just released in May of 09.

You gotta watch those boys at gpsdiscount. They claim that the retail for the 660 is $1200 and they are doing you the HUGE favor of selling for $799 WOW!!!

Now check out the Garmin website. The price has not changed since it was released. I DO find it interesting that the 550 is now $100 more than the 660, though.
