I still want to know what issues are out there with the bike. As a matter of fact I am sitting in the break room of a great dealership in Salt Lake City, getting my bike checked out as a result of knowing ahead of time what to look for during symptomatic driving. It turns out that that the concern is valid and my has seriously loosened itself. If I did not know that hearing "squeel and chirping" was a symptom of this, I would probably have been stranded eventually. TO THOSE WHO POST AND KEEP US AWARE: THANK YOU!!! You saved me a great deal. ALSO This dealership in Salt Lake City, UT. is FANTASTIC. They have taken care of my belt problem, taken the time to finish the recalls AND reflashing and been VERY helpful. They gave me my pick of demo bikes to use to go get lunch and shop around while I waited. (I chose a Vision Tour with lower wind deflectors, which looks kinda hideous but works perfectly as advertised). I chose to buy an iPod and they're throwing the cable on for me RIGHT NOW! I'm downloading iTunes as I type this and getting ready. ONCE AGAIN: THANK YOU ALL FOR POSTING AND KEEPING ME AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR PROBLEMS. BTW, I've posted a few problems, a few answers and now my second outstanding dealership plug. Maybe that's considered "whinning"? Maybe some of us are paranoid that the big bad Harley corp. has set out to make us feel bad about the choice we made with the Vision? This has become rediculous. I can't believe I let a few pretentious "better than every other bike" owners get me so upset about this. I'm letting this one go so I can focus on my trip.
Thanks agian guys

I have wondered the same thing. I have never ridden a more trouble free bike. If I did have a problem I am sure my dealer, Arlen Ness, Las Vegas, would take care if it. I think some people are just hard to please.

Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay!

You know, I've had the problems: turn signals, stereo, yadda, yadda, yadda.... That said, I love my bike. My big complaint has been with the service. Not sure if it's my dealer or Victory..... i.e.. I called the dealership yesterday, to ask about my clutch piece coming in, and if they could do the current recall service when I bring the bike back in next week. They had not even heard of the recall yet! I sent them the forms that I downloaded, thanks to a post on this forum, of the recall notice. First they've heard of it. When my bike was in the shop, for 5 weeks back in March/April, it took them 3 weeks to get the stuff together for the ignition switch recall (which was what had my bike dead to begin with), which was announced a few weeks before I had my issues. I'm not sure if it's that Victory isn't keeping their dealers in the know, or if that my dealer isn't persistent in keeping on top of the issues. I've owned my bike for 9 months, it's been in the shop so far for a total of just over 10 weeks for service. I've put almost 12,000 miles on it, me, my butt, and my back are smiling..... I knew that a first year bike would have it's headaches (and my husband reminds me of this whenever it has a glitch).

It is the most comfortable, head turning bike I've ever had my buttocks on top of.... Hubby wanted me to get a Gold Wing. He has an '06, that he bought in Nov. '05, and has almost 60,000 miles on. I love his bike, but it doesn't look or feel like my bike, as in something that I could ever call my own.... The Vision does. I get frustrated with the down time on it, but I know any new bike, especially a brand new model, is going to have some trouble. My Honda VTX 1800, with less than 500 miles on it, had the rear brakes go out (a bolt worked loose), and my Honda ST 1300, with less than 200 miles on it, blew a seal on the head (wasn't installed correctly). My GMC Envoy blew a transmission seal with less than 600 miles on it. It seems to be my electromagnetic field! My hubby has never had a problem with a new vehicle. It seems to be my curse. That being said, I am shopping around for an exteneded warranty on my Vision. It seems like I will use it! I post my troubles, complaints, because I beleive that we all help each other. The Victory dealer tried to tell me that it was just me having these problems with my bike. I am glad to be able to tell them that there are others out there. I hope it gets Victory to keep on top of the QC and make future models that much better.

By the way, did anyone notice that, when researching the recall on the NHTSA website, that, when you enter in the info, and you get past "2008", then "Victory", that the Vision is the only model that comes up with any recalls?

GUYS, GUYS GIRLS, GUYS ...HAVE WE FORGOTTEN ABOUT WHY THIS SITE WAS STARTED I ASSUME IT WAS TO TALK ABOUT ISSUES WETHER GOOD OR BAD WITH VISIONS .I MEAN REALLY I KNOW BEING ON HERE I HAVE LEARNED ALOT ABOUT MY BIKES "PERKS" YES I HAD A HAIRLINE FRACTURED HEADLIGHT AND SOME OTHER ISSUES BUT IWILL SAY THIS I RIDE MY BIKE DAILY RAIN OR SHINE AND ITS A FREAKING WORK HORSE. IT RUNS WELL AND IM AT 6400 MILES AND IT ONLY GET SMOOTHER EVERDAY.
ALSO REALIZE THIS WHEN YOU PRODUCE AND PRODUCE IN THE THOUSANDS YOU GONNA HAVE ISSUE IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT PRODUCT IT IS ............THE QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK IS MORE THAN 30% OF THE OWNERS OF THOUSANDS! HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND I BEEN HERE FOR A WHILE ON THIS SITE AND WOULD SAY "NO".
THIS SITE IS MEANT FOR THIS DISCUSSION AND YES WHEN YOU DO HAVE PROBLEMS YOU WILL COME HERE AND MENTION IT AND SOME GUY SOMEWHERE WILL PROBABLY HAVE YOUR SOLUTION WITHIN MINUTES. SO WHEN YOU DO POST A ISSUE YOUR NOT BICKERING OR COMPLAINING YOUR HELPING OTHERS SO RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE!

radioteacher, I have well over 10k on mine and just about everything that could become an issue has become an issue. Hell even the head of the service department at my dealership jokes with me now that Victory produced a defective vision of which I got so they could use my bike as a test case to work out all the bugs.
If you get one that has no issues thats great and I'm happy for you. However if you get one that has issues I feel your pain.
The only thing I would add is that the folks who haven't "experienced" an issue only means they have them coming. I hope Victory gets you all fixed up like they have me.
I feel for the dude who picked up a NEW Vision only to have a major engine related issue. I'm sure Victory will get you all fixed up asap.

15K and still no issues to get uptight about. I love this bike!

Thanks Teach, if you are nothing else, you are predictable. He is already starting off with a crap attitude, and you just throw fuel on the fire. Good job!
For everyones sake, I suggest this guy doesn't take delivery. There are plenty of guys who will buy it from the dealer. They will be happy and we won't have to listen to him bitching about sqeaks and heat, and you following up with "yeah let me tell you my troubles".
