Anyone know how to remove the mirrors? I am in the process of tearing down my beloved PMC Tour to install the chrome around the engine area, and I have to get the speaker grills off. the mirrors have to come off first, to get at the screws for the grills! And the instructions do NOT say how that is done. Anyone??? help, please!!-----Metalguy

Hi Bob,

You need to remove the aluminum windshield cover over the headlights. Once you do that, there is a black hex bolt and a silver button head allen bolt that needs to be removed and the mirror comes out. When you put the mirrors back in, note that there is a key tab that has to be inserted from the drivers side of the bike, else the mirrors will not lay down flat.

Excerpt from the manual:

WINDSHIELD ACCESS PANEL
With the access panel removed, you can access:
• Fuse boxes
• Windshield adjustment mechanism or motor
• Headlamp adjustment knob
• Front turn signal bulbs
• Fasteners for mirrors and other components.
1. Release corners of panel by lifting straight upward at each end (1).
2. Carefully slide panel toward windshield to disengage lower tabs (2) and remove the panel.
3. Disconnect the antenna cable at the front right side of the access panel.
4. To install, reverse the above steps.

MIRRORS

1. Remove windshield access panel (page 3.18).
2. Remove top screws for each rear view mirror using a 6mm Allen wrench.
3. Hold mirror so it does not fall out. Remove bottom screw on each mirror using a 10mm socket and small ratchet.

NOTE: The outer edge of each mirror has a tab that must engage a slot at the outer edge.

HTH,

Tim
