Here is the latest dyno with D&D slip ons. These runs where 2-3 months apart, this may account for the small overall variance. You can see that the dip is eliminated with the performance exhaust as predicted by Lloydz. I wonder how much the 11.6 quarter time will improve with this setup.

What's next Lloydz?????

By the way, 116 HP is very good for a 106" with no head work.................

I will exhibit my ignorance here, but I have to ask, and this appears to be as good a place as any. I have an 09 Street, if I change the pipes, do I have to make fuel adjustments? If I don't make any fuel changes, what will result? Does it matter what pipes I change to as far as what changes need to be made? As for what I'm looking for, just looking for a little more sound. I'm not racing anybody, I generally go the speed limit, so a little drop in performance isn't a huge deal, but of course I don't want to hurt anything in trying stuff out. So just seeking some guidance.

bugmasai, I am no expert on the matter but like a number of Vision Riders I went with the Thrush glasspack mufflers. I did not change the header pipes so I understand this is a "slipon" modification. I made no changes to the fuel or air intake. Before I did this my Vision popped and backfired occasionally, it still does but now it is much louder. As far as I can tell I don't have any exhaust leaks. When my dealer gets one in I will have the Lloyds idle air valve installed. I kept my stock mufflers so if the popping doesn't get better or if I am convinced these mufflers are bad for my motor I can put them back on. There is a lot of discussion on mufflers in other threads on Vision-Riders.com

Wow....... I'd like to know as well what has been done to pass the 130 HP/torque mark. I havein't seen any Dyno sheets up to this level yet. I'm guessing at the very least: cams, pistons, ecm and .....

Nice numbers but fill us in on what you've done!!

I did the 116 big bore and cams +++ p3 and 6500 rev limiter. I could only get 128hp but I dont think I could handle any more. here is my dyno with the D&D pipes

Yes, Lloyd did the 3 angle valve job and porting and polishing. The valves are the stock size. Lloyd says that the valves are not the limiting factory with this build. Of course, as always, how much do you want to spend?

You made a pretty good list. D&D exhaust, Power Commander V, clutch, 6400 Rev limiter. We are looking into a Traxxon front end to solid things up at bit. Possible replacement for shock and maybe, NSO2????? and then a 10 second VV.......??????

I used Matt at MOM south in Foxboro Ma. He is one of Lloyd'z recommended mechanics. He has done a few 116 now. There web site is http://momsouth.com/ I did it right out of the crate and have 11K miles on it now.

Hmmmmmmmm, since Smknal and FastFred have basically the same build (as I understand it)........ what are the differences to create a 10hp spread? Possibly the valve job or the pipes (D and D vs Honkers which I think Fred is using)? Maybe it is the PC mapping / tuning?

I'm currently running the Ness Honkers with the VFC GenIII (basically stage1 without OEM mapping - letting the VFC do this) and am really itching for motor work, just not sure how much I'm interested in spending especially since I've seen Dyno's of just cams and ecm upgrades approaching 120. For 5-10HP, may not be worth digging into the motor... but for an apparent 20hp increase from over those with cams and ecm tweak that may be another story. I guess I need to understand where the differences are and with that get the best build components even if that means switching pipes and/or fuel controllers. If I was to go big (116), better to do it all at once as oppossed to paying for cams upgrade and then more labor to rip the engine down and do pistons sep. Hmmmmmm, decisions decisions!!

Random question... would either of you two care to divulge what the motor work has cost you? Based on the Lloydz pkg price plus possible labor, I'm going to guess somewhere in the range of $2500 +/- ?? If you don't want to answer..suppose I understand, LOL.

I could not put a number on it because I had them give me a total number for the bike, build, other add on parts, then take my trade in (08 vision with almost 50k miles on it). I think the difference in numbers comes from the not having any head work done. If I did it again I would have the heads done. The cam's I have are not off the shelf cams. Llody gave me a set he was working on. If I understand him correctly it's between the new and the old ones. I love the D&Ds they have a nice sound and the chrome is A+

Lloyd told me down in Daytona this past spring that the stock Victory Freedom 106 heads have airflow to support around 125 HP +/- 2 to 3 HP. Lloyd has a couple different head packages one with massaged ports and a 3 angle valve job and a more extensive port job with larger intake & exhaust valves..............

By the way Fastfred, that is a really nice torque curve and 128 HP aint nothing to sneeze at. It would cost $6000.00- $7000.00 to get that much HP out of a TC Harley.......................

Thanks for the reply.  In your opinion, what's the sound difference between the Honkers and the D&D's?   I agree, having a full chrome unit is better then bolting up a slip-on unit and covering with stock heat shield.

Reply 1...... I believe that the difference between the builds are that Smkn3 has the new VM1 HP Cam's, it has a Power Commander fuel controller and custom map, possible difference in the head work and finnally, the tuner; AKA Lloydz. This is not a DIS of anything else posted in this thread, FastFred has one hell of a nice machine.

Reply 2...... Smkn3 has been in Pine Bush since November. Lloydz has worked on it in his own good time. The goal was to build something exceptional. The Dyno results so far have been posted and the 11.6 ET's from Dayton speak to the success of the motor build. I am hoping LLoydz will run it again in NY with the latest mods. We are not done yet, other option are on the table. So as to the cost........ well, I think if anyone is interested in duplicating this setup they should give the man a call in Pine Bush. He has always treated me gently knowing I am basically old and cheap. As allways he will ask you how fast do you want to go and how much do you want to spend?

I really like the D&D pipes. I was told that you get a power drop with the honkers but I don't know. The honkers are very loud and hard to tune. I leave my house at 5:30am every day so I wanted something that had a bark but didn't tick everyone off as I rode by. I do a lot of long distence riding as well. I use ear plugs now I would go deef with the honkers. I had no problem without the plugs when I was running S1L2 on my old vision. The D&D are a lot like my S1L2 but the sound is much better. Deeper
