Latest updat to PANDORA makes it so that it works properly with the Vic stereo. You can now see the songs being played, fast forward with the thumb control, and if you toggle off the AUX; it will stay on Pandora instead of going to ipod as default

Kevin,

Will that work on a 2008 Vision radio?

I normally listen to an iPod but Pandora would be nice.

donetracy, Pandora is an internet radio station. If you have any smartphone you can download the Pandora app from your store and then access Pandora through your internet connection. I am, of course, presuming Canada has internet, but I think it does ;-).

Just be sure you have a phone plan which allows for serious data usage or you will rack up phone charges which would allow you to buy several iPods and fill them with music.

Please walk me (us) through this...  When I have tried to listen to Pandora via my iPod/iPhone hook-up, it will default to my iPod music.

Are you using this with the 3mm headpone jack or the iPod/iPhone connector that charges as well?

thanks in advance!

Message issued by PANDORA:

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

It goes on to specifically mention it can't function in Canada, and that it hopes to someday be able to offer this service outside the U.S.

based off of articles that I have read, Pandora is suffering because of the royalities they to pay and therefore the overall selections available are declining. I know from my Pandora profile, many songs are the "live versions" that are not as high quality as the studio recorded versions which they will rarely play. When I try to target specific artists even with many attempts to dislike the others artist it will start playing entirely unlikeable songs that never even made the charts. I see sometime in the not so distant future Pandora will either sell-out or go under. I know they have a pay user base, but having an iPod it just doesn't make sense... I don't have an iPhone, but I do try to listen to it on my computer so I know a little about it. If anyone else has secrets about Pandora, I may go to an iphone for that and other reasons...

Using the ipod conector. If you are still getting the default to ipod. You need to go to the "lifestyle" icon on your phone, and update the version of Pandora you have. After that it will work on it's own as described

I am on version 3.1.17 and cannot play Pandora. The phone says that it doesn't see a connection. But is see the play lists and will show what song is playing on the dash of the bike.

I listen to Pandora often. As varyder stated above, the songs are not high quality. I cannot listen to it with Bose headphones or my stage equipment due to all the popping noise. It gets uncomfortable to the ears after 30 minutes or so. With regular earbud headphones, however, it is not quite as noticable. The lower the quality of headphones the better Pandora sounds.

With the stock Vision stereo I couldn't hear the imperfections at all. When I upgraded the stereo, the poor quality was noticeable when the bike was in the garage not running. Once I started the motor, the poor quality was much less noticeable. While riding, the wind and bike noise completely masks the popping and crackling in the songs.

I listen to the comedy stations frequently while riding. I get some strange stares when I pass cars laughing out loud.

I hope Pandora does not decline further. Overall, I like it a lot. It is a great concept. It works good (as long as you are not using a hi-fi system).

I am using Google Music more now. The quality is much better. You have to pay for most songs like iTunes, but many are still free. You can play the songs on any device that can access the internet. You can also make the songs available offline for play when you don't have internet access. The best part is you can upload all your current music to your account. Now I don't need an MP3 player anymore to make my old collection of tunes mobile.

What cable are you hooking up to your I-Phone? The black cable or the 3.5 mm plug?

Okay, I'm like a little girl in a puppy store, the iPhone with Pandora works on the '08!!! Of course it doesn't charge through the setup on my bike but I think there is a remedy for that. Also, the Pandora displays the song, but I also discovered that I can play the internet radio station, but it doesn't give the display, just the last song on the iTune playlist. Shazaaam!!

Well, I am not sure what I did or did't do, but I started pushing buttons on my I Phone and now I can play Pandora and use the up down and mute buttons and it works perfect. Even showing the song title. YEA!!!!
