Heidi bought a new bike this weekend. She took one for a ride, big mistake on my part. It is a beautiful bike. She traded her 2008 Vegas Low for the new 2012 Cross Country. Thanks to the folks at Douglas and Frye (they did cost me a fortune though)!

She looks pretty darn happy. Now you just need to pick a place to ride off to together.

Nice! Looks like you made your wife happy:-)

Just curious did you get about 1/2 or better for the 2008 Vegas of what it was new?

Over half. They gave us a good deal - as always. Plus we always go there for parts and such.

Unfortunately we rode off together for Memorial day on her old bike and will have to wait awhile for the next trip. Day trips will be the norm for awhile - the 7 year old has to go too!

Congratulations to your wife!

Did you do the test ride at Randy's? I ask because Randy's Cycles has the Victory Demo truck there this weekend as well as a few vendors selling things like pinstriping and sunglasses.

Get a one inch lowering link for her and be ready to be left in the dust.

Next weekend I am lowering it 2" for her. I will modify the link myself and then she will be truly happy. We also ordered 2" pull back bars which I will have to put on next weekend as well.

I noticed she's tiptoed on it, not that it would make a difference, lol. Lowering will be great. Congrats on a very nice bike.

Bend the kick stand or buy one from HMD the bike will fall over if you don't do it.

DO NOT heat kick stand it will fail in time.  I cut my link rod and then tape it screwed in a stud welded it and back in all an about four hours

I lowered my Vision 2.5 inches in the rear and 2 inches in the front. I have 25,000 miles on the link I made and all is fine. I also did my kickstand. The pad is just welded on - all the weight is on the stick that was left. Thanks for the advice. I do kinda like the idea of cut, tap, weld the lowering link. Might be easier to align than the way I did mine. Thanks for the tip!

Nice ride. I'm sure she will be happy. My wife wanted one till she seen what the 12 cross country tour all came with and she was sold on that since she would want all the extra's anyway and it was much cheaper to buy it ready to roll. she also needs the 2" pull back bars to fit her as well. enjoy you two.

SammJ She sure did. We orderd it last sept and didnt get it till Dec. So it was a nice Xmas present for her. She got the sunset red after looking at the white ( to cop looking she said) and black she was tired of having (09 HD street glide). Nothing better than having to nice rides from ma Vic. After riding her XCT my vision still feels the best to me and rides better IMO. But hey everyone has there fav's right. Again enjoy you two. my wife is on the front page with her red XCT on cross-riders.

Smile says it all. Congrats. If I traded the VV in on a XC it would be in that color.
