The one thing that burns my butt, literally, about the Vision is the fact it came standard with a vinyl seat! PREMIUM means to me it should have been leather, even with the heating elements, and I would have paid a dollar more if it was available at the time. But, I will most rickey tickey get this bad boy covered in leather before too long.

Sitting in the sadle for three hours with a sweaty crouch and burning just seems to take away from the moment of the ride!

I ain't riding on no dead sheep, so don't throw no sheepskin at me.... sheep are for you folk in...

I agree leather would be much more comfortable. My biggest question is how it would react as a heated seat. Here in the NE I will never give up my heated seat after having experienced it.

I have the Corbin seat pricey but worth it it fits me better and the heat works just fine thanks. This is the number one investment I have made in the bike to make it better. Archie

varyder, there has been a nice leather seat over on ebay a couple times. Dealer selling it but there is no heat on this saddle. I was toying with purchasing a leather non-heated for summer and keeping my stocker for the colder months when the heat is nice to have. Hell your saddle has got to be getting packed down a little by now, lol....

thanks teach, good suggestion. i'll stick with what works for me though, i'm going to have mine cut and leathered for the same year 'round feel. seems like you're having a lot of problems with everything...lOl... i almost feel left out since i'm not having any problems out of the norm...i guess your vision reminds you of your old harley days...lOl...lOl....

varyder, that was my other suggestion. There is only one auto place that could redo the seat in my area and he's so expensive I'd be further ahead to buy a second seat, lol...
Careful now! You better knock on some wood or something, lol... I'll tell you the problem are minor for the most part, annoying yes but minor. You'd think that after 2 years the bugs would be worked out but alas this one is determined to keep me going back to the dealer. I'll likely replace it later this summer after I've returned from Montana. Haven't made up my mind if I'll get a new Vision in the dark blue, or a Cross Country. I'd really hate to give up the windshield, so I'm leaning towards another Vision.
Now as to reminding me of my Ole HD? My past 2 bikes have been HD's, before that a couple wings. One of my wings was in for repair once and I broke a motor mount on my older HD once. In fact I haven't owned a bike in 30 years which has been to the dealer more than this Vision. Had a 66 Jawa Sport w/sidecar which was in almost as many times as the Vision, but always for the same charging issue. Don't get me wrong I haven't yet hit the "I'm so fed up with this bike so it is gone" point.... but I'm hoping the next is a lot less maintenance. Both the Mrs and myself love the Vision, the service calls not so much, lol... Guess that means Victory did something right.
So where is your projected summer trip taking you, decide yet?

That would be cool. Taking the Mrs with you? Mine generally goes home to England each summer and I go do my own thing on the bike, but this year she's going along with me for the first ride of the summer. I'll probably do a few smaller 1500-2000 mile runs after the first to ride with some friends in Kentucky, LA an Georgia. I think I need to move just a little further south so I could ride more months of the year.

Thanks, I always try to. Try to get in some pleasure rides yourself. Works great but life is short.

Sheepskin would be THE most comfortable kewl thing in the Mojave, Chris. Don't knock it until ya blah blah....

Hell of a lot cheaper than leather - easier and cheaper to maintain - easy on - easy off - Co-Pilot LOVES it - tells everyone that you a a 'long distance rider' - a SMART rider - your bum will love you - cows will love you - sheep.... well . . . . .

when i get the cowhide don, i'll shoot for the sheep, didn't really want to knock it as i see a lot of long distant bwm riders on them. that might be under the bum for the mojave. i'm looking gettin' my white long sleeve riding shirts and i already ride with my face covered, so i'm almost there for a good july day in the desert... bring it on...

My guy can add heat to ANY seat you send him. Two level high and low switch mounted on the side just like the VV. I had my Rune seat heated, took hom about 12 days to ship, add heat, and send back to me. Under 200.00.

BTW your ass sweats just the same on top of leather as it does on vinyl. Lets not pretend that leather is any cooler when its 80degrees outside LOL

If anyone is going down the throw over skin route may I suggest Goat rather than sheep.... If you talk with real long riders you'll find that goat is far better than sheepskin. More airflow for the hot days and it dries quickly if you get it wet. There are a couple places out west that sell them and I don't know anyone who uses one that has ever had a complaint. Just a suggestion.

Amen to sheepskin. I like Alaska Leather, but there are many out there providing them.

having rode many miles on leather make ask why I'm still sitting on plastic. Much more desireable...
