Hey folks,

Just finished my installation of a Guard Dawg Keyless Ignition Module (KIM). Installation was a snap. less than hour and that included making a run for some double sided tape. It has two modes of operation manual ( have to press FOB button to activate ignition - flick kill switch to on - start bike) and ofcourse Auto - walk up flick the kill switch to on and start her up.

I installed my own home made version on my Rocket III. It worked great. A kind word to the wise......the batteries are replacable. Either change it every riding season or carry a spare battery on the bike. I speak from experience 😉.

Other than not being able to lock the steering without the key, how do you open the cover to put gas in the tank? You need the key.

Obviously you need a key for a few things on the bike...saddlebags, trunk, gas, & locking the steering so you will never be able to not carry a key. This is a keyless ignition module...nothing more. In my opinion, it has a great value. Every time you ride the bike you will have to start it but you don't always need to put gas in, lock the steering or lock the bags & trunk. For me the greatest benefit would be not having to remember to remove the key from the ignition when you stop. I have accidentally left the key in several times. This module would eliminate that problem. Adding a fob to the keychain is pretty minor.

absolutely 100000% ... i was at a rally years ago. and i watched a bunch of guys play a prank on their buddy.. he was in his motel room passed out , and they popped his bike out of gear and pushed it around the other side of the building... had the bars been locked it would of made moving the bike to another location a lot more difficult.. when i witnessed how easy it was to relocate that bike... (maybe to a easier area to load it in a truck) i took that as a lesson learned.. nothing is full prove to stop a thief.. but if you have the means to make it more difficult why wouldn't you ?

I have heard stories about that at happening at Sturgis. So is there an actual fork lock on the Vision?

Yes there is. Move you bars to not quite full lock left, push the key down and rotate counter clockwise. You may need to wiggle the bars a bit at first but once you figure out the sweet spot, it will become easy. Once the key turns counter clockwise, pull the key out. This not only locks the forks but also the storage compartment on the tank.

Yes. Turn bars to the left and push down on the ignition key as you turn it to the left. Similar to unlocking the gas cap cover but you have to push down on the key. At least that's how I think it works. I have only tried it a time or two as I do not use it on a regular basis.

I'm too trusting, sometimes I leave my key in the ignition and rarely lock the forks. I don't sit long, and I figure if they want to steal a bike with a 191,000 miles on it and no resale value, more power to them!

you must of never read your owners book. Turn bars all way to left turn key to lock. If you look at that black plastic ring around your ignition switch you'll see the words "lock"

I lost my book when my saddle bag door kept popping open, a year after I got my Vision.

ALL my manuals are on my computer in a folder called "MY ADOBE MANUALS". Everything from Coffee Maker to SMART Car. Steering locks have been on all my bikes for the past 45 years - and I have always used it. My car has keyless ignition - just touch a button on the door or the trunk to open or lock, and a button on the dash to stop/start ignition - handy.
Having the ADOBE manuals means they are available to me from ANY computer - ANYWHERE. I never have to go rummage thru a car or bike to find the manual. And the manuals get updated if something changes. The VISION ADOBE manual is well done and easy to find things - easier than the printed book.

Download the VISION manual here (or GOOGLE SEARCH - Victory Vision Adobe Manual Download):
