Wanted to introduce myself- bought my Vision in October but just getting around to signing up for the boards. Have been going through withdrawal without my bike as it is in storage here for the Chicago winter. I am looking forward to meeting other Vision riders and have some great rides in the spring. It is great to be here-

Hello Tony, Too bad you can't retrofit some skis you wouldn't have to wait for spring. I saw a goldwing with automatic training wheels once. That was interesting...
Welcome! You've got a lot to look forward to.

I followed that bike last year down the main drag in Virginia City during Street Vibrations. The back wheels were automatic, they lowered when the bike came to a stop and lifted up once it started rolling again. The rider never had to put his feet down. He had a video camera mounted on the front of the bike also. Maybe it was rigged for the video or the rider may have been handicapped. Either way an interesting ride. I can post a pic if there is an interest.

I'd be interested. How are you guys enjoying your Visions? Any problems? Just had the one recall on mine but otherwise it has been great. I did get the IPod adapter and that did not work very well- i think you have to use a Nano instead of a full sized IPod. Something about the disk on the IPod. Looking forward to starting to get some accessories in the spring. Mine was one on the odd bikes that was shipped as a comfort but had the HID, Lighted Badging, and Heated Seats on it. Basically everything except the chrome. I love it. The ride is so great and at 6'5" i have plenty of room to stretch out. By far the most comfortable bike i have ever ridden. The extended floorboards allow me to move my feet all over and never get stiff. OK, probably saying to much now...

the problems to look for,,,,break line rubbing on foot rest braket. Voltage reg issues. Gas Guage sticking (but unsticks itself), temp guage might go to -9 when under 28 ferenheit (who cares, it's cold), Windshield stress lines/cracks, trunk light draining battery. Soft clear coat, watch how and what you wax with. Body protection from boots toe,,some mentioned a clear plastic coat where your toes may rub. Bikes battery to weak from factory. I'm a frequent flyer of this site, and most bikes have none of these issues. Some have just one. The above is what I can remember reading while on this site. Mostly very minor issues to look for. Oh, we are also pretty agressive with our humor. Zinggers are smiled upon.

also, someone mentioned their heat shield near the header was touching and causing bluing. Like I said, no real major issues for a first gen. bike. It's an awesome machine and i'm very happy with mine!

Welcome Journeyman! I get the whole "room to stretch out" thing as I'm 6'8" and 290lbs. Weather sucks here in SE Iowa too, I think I've ridden less than 300 miles since I got my bike in early December. First ice, then snow, now it's just colder than hell (-5 deg this morning) I think I will burn vacation the first day it's sunny and breaks 40 degrees. Looks like your just 5 hrs. east of me, we'll have to meet for a burger and a beer someday.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I have had a few of the issues mentioned, namely:
My jeans seem scratch the paint if they rub around the seat area.
Did have the voltometer problem and it was replaced in the recall.
My key got stuck in the ignition and that had to be replaced.

Other than that, though, everything was great. I got mine in October so did have a little time to enjoy the bike but ended up having to put it into storage mid-december when i moved. Now, have a garage again but will leave it in until March probably.

The comfort level of the bike is just amazing. I can't wait to get back on and do some rides with other club members. Really looking forward to that.

journeyman - I'm a ways south of Galeena, it's about a day ride to get there and back (on backroads) I often times ride the Ill. side up to Davenport. Then I take the IA side up to Sebula and cross over to Savanna to visit Poopy's or the Iron Horse Social Club. From there it's back to Iowa with a stop in Anamosa at J&P Cycles. From there it's about a 2 hour blast home down the 4 lane. I live in the SE corner of Iowa and can cross into Ill in Burlington or Ft. Madison. Both are about 30 miles from my house. I'm open to a ride somewhere, sometime, it dosn't make much difference to me where. Wind in my face makes me happy! When the weather warms we will have to make plans to meet up.
